Yesterday I went from 2pm to 6.30pm cutting a pile of oak for firewood I have the MSA300, and the 220C, most the time I use the MSA300 for the logs are quite tick, I have 3 AP500 and 3 AP300S batteries for this 2 saws again the saws are great but to cut continuous the battery time is a pain in the neck, lucky I was close to the house and always have one charging otherwise I be in trouble. In regard the MSA300 yes sure is powerful the problem is that if I always go in full power in order to be fast the AP500 fast be out of charge, I need a battery that last long for this saw and it not exist.

Thanks for your feedback. We do understand the frustrations - we are constantly developing our battery technology and trying to maximise working times, whilst balancing the weight of the battery and keeping them in the same size and format so that they continue to fit existing tools. I will pass your feedback on to our Product team though. Thanks, STIHL GB

@@STIHLGB A battery backpack would help a lot with this, or a belt. I understand that would mean having to have a short cord (that could also cause issues) but it would lighten the tool significantly and put a lot of the weight somewhere more manageable while giving a lot more Amp Hours.
@STIHLGB2 жыл бұрын
@@steveanimatrix3887 thanks for your comment. The issue is that the cable and the battery itself is not capable of transferring as much power as is possible with a direct connection from the AP 500 S battery. Thanks, STIHL GB

will this work with the Stihl AR 3000 backpack battery ?
@STIHLGB4 ай бұрын
Hi there, we wouldn't recommend using it with the MSA 300. The AP 500 S is required for the machine to reach full power. It will still work with the AR 3000 L battery but you would have a reduced power output and a cord which could potentially be a safety issue. Many thanks, STIHL GB

Doesn't this saw support a 20" bar? Other sources say it does, but this video only mentions shorter bars.
@STIHLGB2 жыл бұрын
Hi, thank you for your comment. You can use it with a 20" bar, they just aren't available as the standard kit, so they do have to be bought separately from the MSA 300. You can use it with either of the following bars: Rapid Super Pro (RS Pro) .325" saw chain, 1.3 mm, 81 drive links, 50 cm / 20" (part number: 3690 000 0081) www.stihl.co.uk/STIHL-Products/Cutting-attachments/Saw-chains/Super-saw-chains/Rapid-Super-Pro-(RS-Pro)/2110455-133422/Rapid-Super-Pro-(RS-Pro).aspx Light 04 guide bar, .325" RS Pro, 1.3 mm, 50 cm / 20" (part number: 3003 008 3321) www.stihl.co.uk/STIHL-Products/Cutting-attachments/Guide-bars/Light-04/2110487-133427/Light-04.aspx I hope that helps, but let us know if you have any other questions. @@STIHLGB thanks very much for the detailed reply! I see there is a new MSA 300 C-O which has a 20" bar standard but it isn't released yet, probably this summer in at least some markets. I was confusing that saw with this one (unsure what the C-O stands for)
@STIHLGB2 жыл бұрын
@@BenDiscoe The O stands for the oil sensor - there is an oil sensor on the handle so you can see when the chain oil is low and needs topping up. We have that feature on the new MSA 220 TC-O but we don't currently have any plans to bring in the MSA 300 C-O in Great Britain. Thanks, STIHL GB

A 20" bar? I have that saw the MSA300 with 16 and 18" bars, however it maybe not be saw the supporting or not but how long the battery is going to last. In full power using 80 to 90% of 16 " bar I got about 15 minutes, in Eco-Mode about 35 minutes with AP500. I think if you increase the bar length less battery time you going to have. I only use it 2 times so far but is a fast saw, I have also the 220C, they are not comparable the MSA300 is much faster feels much professional, I have to the 161T with 30cm bar length and this one really surprise me, is small but cuts fast and even with AP200 it runs for quite some time.

The entirety of the Atlantic region was on back order due to the pandemic, and it was more than Stihl that was affected. Had a lot of customers struggling to find Stihl, Huskies and other brands. A majority of manufacturers out herr have been on backorder, more than just stihl. I have a hard time getting power tools, oil based products such as paint and gas, and heavy items like canning jars still today and we are no means a small company. When your work force gets cut in half like Stihl's manufacturering everyone gets laid off or works from home, and 90% of them all decide to finally work on their yard and don't have the proper equipment, they have to go out and buy new toys. We got absolutely SLAMMED in the first 3 months and couldn't keep the shelves stocked. That's just supply and demand.
@greg65322 жыл бұрын
@@gotsace I understand during the pandemic but we are way passed that now. Stihl have been a complete let down far more than any other supplier which have saws in stocks. Its more the fact they promise a date then don't stick to it. I ordered an MSA300 it was supposed to be ready for me to collect from my stihl dealer back in February and here we are nearly October and still no saw!! Not even a courtesy call or email to apologise, nothing!! I got fed up with waiting and bought the equivalent Husqvana saw and they were no problem at all it was on the shelf ready to collect so Husqvana have got it right but unfortunately Stihl are a thing of the past in my opinion now.

@@greg6532 thanks for your comment, have you been in touch with our Customer Services team directly about this, or have you just been speaking to your dealer? I do understand your frustration but the MSA 300 chainsaw was never due to launch in February - it was always planned to be launched in May, so somewhere your dealer has given you incorrect information (they weren't even able to place orders themselves until April this year). The stock issues we have had haven't just been related to the pandemic - the high demand at that time did cause some issues, but many of the issues have been related to supply chain issues caused by the war in Ukraine. We have put some information about the stock issues here on our website: www.stihl.co.uk/issues-affecting-the-availability-of-stihl-products.aspx We do understand that this doesn't resolve the issues for you right now, but our Customer Services team are doing all they can to signpost people to the local dealers that do have stock, and our Logistics team have been working extremely hard to make sure we get deliveries into GB and then turn them round to deliver them to STIHL dealers as soon as possible. Thanks, STIHL GB
