So true. Sometimes I run a 15 " on my 660. It's great to know I can go a lot bigger if necessary 👍🏻

New,saws i recommend 241, and 261 for heavier uses for farmers,,, for timberin 201, and this is because chain.

I have to disagree with 660 being a medium saw. Yes the 880 is much bigger still, but I still classify them both as "large saws", purely based on the use-cases that the majority of people are using them for. For example if you could only have 1 saw, I think the vast majority of users are going to go for something in the 70cc range. Nobody is hauling around a 660 for cutting up firewood, limbing branches, or even falling trees under 24". The vast majority of use-cases for a saw do not demand a 660. The 660, like the 880 are quiver saws -- most people only pull them out for a specific purpose. Like when you need a long bar for a big tree, or for milling. It's not a daily driver. And I think if you asked 10 different people, probably at least 8 would agree that a 660 fits more into the "large" category.

@@OutdoorsWithChad What about them makes them stands out as large to you? My experience is limited between those two (461,660) because both were new to me this year. My background was a dolmar 7900, moved to a 880 due to needing more than the 7900 had. I spent the most of this year running a 288. When running them or having them next to each other the physical size difference between them isn't much. Maybe it is my use or the years I spent with the 880 but to me, the 90cc saw are not much bigger than most 70cc saws. They are much more adaptable for me handling 404 chains but still small enough for most work. Do you spend much time running the bigger saws?
@josecordova5513Ай бұрын
Sounds like you been running saws for sometime...we'll said buddy...
@OutdoorsWithChadАй бұрын
@@SawChainTheories It doesn't really matter what stands out to me or what I've run, that's all subjective. Objectively the 661 is a large saw: 1) Its large compared to where it sits in the lineup 2) Its large compared to the purpose most tree workers use it for 3) Its large by weight compared to majority of other saws, being 26% heavier than the 462 which you compared it against. No matter how you spin it, 26% is a big increase! So you're welcome to your subjective opinion about how you feel about it, but objectively speaking I don't think there's much argument about it being a big step, if not 2 steps (considering the 500i sits between them in power and weight) above the 462.

250 is a little killer when modded a lil
@stephenhair5501Ай бұрын
I have a 250 and absolutely love it. We just got hit by Hurricane Helene and massive loss of trees everywhere. I put on some full chisel chain and went to work. It took two days of cutting to be able to get out of our neighborhood and out on the highway. Well over 60 trees were down completely blocking the road. Hardwoods and pines. The 250 ran circles around the other saws. I would consider doing a mod on it, but I don't know of anyone nearby that can do that.
@SawChainTheoriesАй бұрын
@@timberandtools The 250 was parts for the 230. Problem is they both were fixed cheaply and work fine so now I have 2. Might sell one or both at some stage or find something for them to do

The 461 is a fat hog in my opinion. There are 75 to 80cc saws lighter than that. Great torque but heavy.
