I am really getting tired of the comparisons to the platypus. The platypus simply is a 2011 that takes glock mags. That’s the only difference it has from a regular 2011. Alpha foxtrot made a 2011 that takes glock mags a few years before stealth, but it didn’t make as much of a splash for some reason. The alpha foxtrot to me seems to be a better gun. More compact and is in dlc instead of cerakote. Regardless, this gun beats both of them in terms of features. This thing is the most feature packed 2011 in the world. And if this is even close to as reliable as a Glock, then it will also be the most reliable 2011 in the world. We shall see though. But once again, I’m tired of people comparing apples to oranges. Not to mention the fact that they’re not informed enough to even know that stealth arms didn’t even do it first.

@ yes, but glock mags are glock mags. The alpha foxtrot gun was designed to be somewhat small and slim to be good for conceal carry, so they went with a smaller glock magazine pattern. But they ship out with metal shield arms glock magazines that give you 15 rounds instead of 10 with the regular glock mags.

@@darthjoshua6663 The Alpha Foxtrot was based off an aftermarket Glock mag... The Shield 15+ mags, and it was a compact. That's why nobody cared. You were dropping 1600 dollars for a carry exclusive gun with a 3 inch barrel. Platypus is built off the 17 mag, and has WAAY better features like a full length railed dust covers, direct mount dots, bull barrels, and basically whatever else you wanted. I am aware that Alpha Foxtrot did it first, but they did it wrong. Nobody wanted a nearly 2000 dollar 3 inch barreled pistol that could only use 10 rounders if you used the OEM glock mags. Stealth Arms is the first to make it full size, and the first to offer 1 off built pistols with whatever choice you want for less than four thousand dollars.

Now that the Staccato NDA has ended. I can share that I've had hands-on experience with the HD model. From the standpoint of grip size, the grip width is slightly larger than the Staccato C (V3 grip) and smaller than the Staccato C2/P/etc... grip. The grip texture is tackier than the V3 grip but does not tear your skin off, tacky. Using the 135g 9mm Staccato ammo, it had slightly less recoil than Staccato C, i.e., you don't have to apply a death grip to manage it. In my honest opinion, the Staccato HD will be the next market disrupter. Staccato, thank you for allowing me to be part of the journey.

Because that's what everybody wants, their law enforcement buying overpriced handguns. If the officers responsible for buying their own handgun then sure buy whatever you want. But it's kind of dumb having law enforcement spending $2,500 on each gun and most of them will never train enough with it to be proficient with it. Sure they may get a discount buying in bulk but it won't be even close to the price the department could pay for M&P's or Glocks and most officers aren't going to see an accuracy or reliability increase by switching over to a 2011 platform

@ as someone who does train regularly and working in LE, I love that my administration gives me the option to pursue obtaining a firearm of my choice within policy. I feel that this firearm/platform with continued training will be be the best tool in my hand. We don’t have long guns (i know I know), so I feel like this is the best option overall. I just purchased my 3rd P after returning a C with a full size grip that I bought myself for Christmas, because I couldn’t get mags for it. I’m honestly so stoked for this. I love seeing American innovation, especially in this space. I have around 70k rounds on different iterations of the P platform and I’m very excited to see what this leads to. Staccato caught on to the fact that guns designed and marketed toward military/LE tend to sell very well in the commercial market. They can sell these at bulk contract pricing to “elite” agencies and units and price gouge the commercial market to recoup their costs.

Have you tried sitting through a presentation meeting or slideshow presentation? In contrast, podcasts like Joe Rogan's don't need background music because speakers are throwing curve balls at each other and keep shifting to different topics and infusing lots of humor into the conversation, making the 3rd party listener interested on where the conversation eventually leads to.

Competition really promotes progress. Increased reliability with higher quality but at a lesser price. Now, other manufacturers are calling their sales department to adjust their prices and R&D department doing overtime to crank up newer models. First, we had the Micro 9 war. We now have the hi-cap 1911 war.

This new gun the new P HD4 and HD4.5 is going to be awesome. The HD4.5 is probably going to be your best selling gun. Please also make a HD4 with a G19 sized grip. Also consider making a version of both HD4 and HD4.5 with a 70 series trigger and a grip safety. These will be the best selling staccatos ever. The ambi controls etc. awesome!

Sooooo..... I just ordered my new HD P4; one immediate suggestion is to include at least one of the host mounting kits with the firearm (i.e., select the one you need from the listed options). The premium package with four Mec-Gar magazines is a nice touch'ish, but I'd rather have the mounting kit.

Great video. As an LEO, I appreciate the effort. I’m a lefty and don’t really care for ambi guns. I learned years ago to use my pointer finger for mag and slide release. I do like the absence of the grip safety and the sight/optic mount. I will likely pick up this new model soon.

Full transparency, i haven't watched the whole video, but initial impression is that this is a largely LEO driven project. Initially, i had hoped that they would drive the price point down in order to do so, but it doesn't appear they have. The unfortunate reality is that the majority of departments in the united states are not interested in getting the shooting performance benefits over other much more affordable options if it comes at a significant price point difference. If they were able to drop the price point down to "only" being 2.5 times the cost of glock or sig then maybe. But at this price point itll still be largely relegated to smaller or federal units.

I think this is a great move! A common issue in 3rd party Glock mag catches is the catch chewing up the mag. Is the catch on the HD a polymer catch or metal? How is the long term durability of the mags?

MecGar Glock magazines are made to not chew up polymer magazine releases. Look at the catch design.

I'm not sure if it's polymer but I find it telling that staccato partnered with mecgar to make metal mags for the new gun. That indicates to me that the mag catch isn't polymer

From what I can tell it seems the mecgar mags don’t use a cutout, but an indent for the mag catch, so probably less likely to damage polymer mag catches. Might mean the mag catch here could be polymer as well

I took a 3k round pistol class over three days last September the first day on the first drill that people were on the ground in a light capacity and some sugar sand got into the guns from the holsters I saw 3 different staccato pistol not only have major malfunctions but two of them the slides were seized up to the point were they were total paperweights it blew my mind all the glocks and older sigs didn't have a hiccup. Other than a platypus or $100 2011 comp magazines they all fail hope this works goodluck.

@@EntrepreneurDad89 There’s a learning curve with the grip and controls but it’s worth it. The external extractor, dedicated 9mm mag, improved recoil system, weight, finish, and trigger makes it the best gun for the money right now IMO. You should get one.

I think a slimline 2011 designed around P365 mags would be neat. A modular grip and frame would allow easy reconfiguration among various capacity mags as well as preferred grip widths and slide lengths. It’d be a great blend of concealability and shootability

When I was younger my unicorn gun was always an STI DVC open..(also DVC STEEL) When I came closer and closer to being able to achieve the goal your focus continues to move further and further away from this segment. For YEARS there has been 1911 style pistols with external extraction, pinned beaver tales even series 80 ect... There have even been aluminum and metal grips and other companies making grip modules that will accept other magazines.. I don't blame you for changing your focus and going after a different market.. however I do feel the "everyday" shooter or (idpa, uspsa steel challenge) people who looked to your company as the BEST without being full cusom now may no longer be in your mind or priority.

I really like the Staccato, I just haven't received clearance from my CEO/Chairman of the Board/Wife to get one. By means of chicanery and subterfuge I built a striker fire polymer pistol that while not as good as the Staccato I tried out feels sort of feels like 2011s I shot. I don't recommend this strategy because it costs a lot, it's nerve racking to pull off given that women always know what you're up to and it won't be as good as the Stacatto but the 5" Walther PDP with upgraded, polished trigger, flush fit Holosun red dot, brass backstrap and brass magwell is pretty good.

@@Staccato2011 I'm definitely getting a Staccato. There are more expensive 2011s but I don't think any of them offer anything better than Staccato. My wife is new to the pistol world and she's getting into it. For Christmas she wanted a CZ Shadow 2 Compact, I was so proud. Glock Mags is a huge innovation. I live in Idaho and we spend a ton of time in the Sawtooths with our 7 sons. While I know that my Ruger 19122 isn't the cream of the 9mm PCC world, it takes my $1900 upgraded Glock 17 and I have a backpack customized for it. Snowmobiling, hiking, camping, side. by side, having that Glock/PCC combo is really nice. Now I can have a Staccato/PCC combo.

Except, no back strap safety, ambidextrous, better build consistency, firing pin block for drop safety, better optics platform. Love the platy. But this is definitely an advancement..hope it lives up to the hype.

This sounds great. A Staccato thats drop safe, no grip safety, G17 mags, that awesome optics with integral BUS you should really emphasize. BUT not a fan of ambi thumb safety on a carry, unused safety lever is exposed in holster and gets clicked off regularly. Hope you have a 1 side only thumb safety option.

Para was first. Made a frame kit and mags. Later made complete guns. Later bought out by Remington. Para was ALWAYS crap, BTW. Sandy and Virgil came along later to make a frame kit, and later they had the divorce and both had their own companies that made frames and complete guns: STI and SVI. Dave Skinner later bought STI. Later on, STI became in employee owned company, until the current ownership came along. Somewhere early 90s, Caspian made frames and mags. A lot of them are still in use. They were narrower in the grip than the 2011s. Also at some point, Springfield made their own wide body that took their own mags, and a short time later they went out of production. BTW, I owned/own versions of all of them except Caspian and Springfield.

My only dissapointment is the inability to achieve a +/- 2lbs trigger. Should not be no be an issue for duty role and most EDC end-users and that is Staccato's focus market.

Perhaps firing pin block plunger and lever actuator are removable… then it acts like a series 70…. So you can get 2lb trigger

Just buy a regular 2011? The philosophy of use for this firearm is not a competition pistol. It's supposed to be the pinnacle of duty pistols
