I got one last week because of your video! Such a beast of a knife. I love it. You're the only one that has a review out on this knife 🔪 Great video, as always brother
@Kris_Stiletto2 жыл бұрын
Yes, I am loving mine, too... :-) Note: You might want to disassemble your knife and Red Lok-Tite the Flat Tip Pivot Screw to the Stainless Steel Liner it screws into; mine, like my other Deadbolts, kept coming loose. The way to fix that is to either keep tightening up the Pivot. Or, Red Lok-Tite the Pivot Screw to the Liner. You only need to put a little on the liner threads. Be sure to only get Red Lok-Tite on the Liner Threads and nowhere else... And, then re-reassemble. :-) Yes this is an awesome folder. Mine has gone to work with me and it's a great one for my Bike, too, due to the strong pocket clip. I think it's an awesome heavy-duty folder option, at it's price. Most heavy-duty folders cost more. Cold Steel is the only one that offers great heavy-duty folders for less. Like the SR1 Lite, 4Max Scout, Recon 1, AD15 Lite, and the Voyager Series. Everyone else charges a lot more for their Heavy-Duty Knives, except CRKT. And, now, that CRKT has the Flavio Ikoma Deadbolt, they have the ability to make great and affordable Heavy-Duty Deadbolt Folders at reasonable prices, too... Personally, I hope this is just the beginning, for them, with the Deadbolt... Right on, Bro! Enjoy that awesome, Heavy-duty, Combat Ready, Folder! :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)

@@Kris_Stiletto funny you mention that about the pivot screw! I thought it was just mine and was possibly defective. I'll give the loc-tite a try. Thanks for the tip!

You think the Shark Lock can handle a 5.5 inch blade? I feel like blade retention is a problem for these other weird locks. Tri Ad is strong and great retention. A big blade opening up by accident is more dangerous for sure.
@Kris_Stiletto2 жыл бұрын
Excellent point, Bro... I don't have an AD20; I wish I did... :-( If I had one of those, with a 4" Blade, that would give me a better and more educated response to your very good question that has, now, put a question mark in my mind, too, Bro... Personally, I think nothing can beat the Andrew Demko Tri-Ad Lock for ounce for ounce strength; that's what makes it so cool to me. It can be super strong without having to make the folder super heavy. Most other lock types require the folder and it's lock to be very over built, bulky, and heavy to try to be as strong as a the Andrew Demko Tri-Ad Lock. That is one of the things I really admire about the Tri-Ad Lock; you can make a very lightweight knife super strong with a Tri-Ad Lock. The only drawback is it's not super fidgety type of lock. It requires self-taught skill to be able to operate super-fast, when it comes to opening and closing quickly. But there's no doubt in my mind that the Andrew Demko Tri-Ad Lock is still the "Ounce for Ounce (this means the actual weight of the Folder)" King of the Folding Knife Locks, period... I tend to like my fidgety folders to not be Mega Folders... I think a 5" Blade is about as big as I would want a super fidgety Manual Folder to be. Note: When you fidget a lot, sometimes you get cut a little... When this happens with a smaller blade it's usually not a big deal. But, with a big and heavy blade, it might be a problem... Just a thought... :-) Myself, to me, my Cold Steel, Tri-Ad, Mega Folders are the "Ultimate" Mega Folders. Nothing is better. The Tri-Ad rules, when it comes to Mega Folders, period. :-) That's my opinion... :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)

Thank you, Bro! This is one has a beautiful American Tanto Blade; I absolutely luv it! I know you don't like Aluminum Handle Scales, so this one may not be for you. But, I also, know that you, like me, absolutely luv the American Tanto Blades. And, this one absolutely "ROCKS!!!" I will be doing a disassembly Video on this one next (perhaps today). I want to tune and lube it; it's going to be a User for me and is going in my Rotation Drawer. I also, want to see if it can be de-assisted; I have several People asking me if it can be. So, I will take a look and see if it can be, for them. Though, I like it just the way it is. :-) This is not one I would carry to have a fun fidgeter. this is a Heavy-Duty Tactical Folder, that's ready for Service. I think it's super cool that CRKT decided to apply the Flavio Ikoma's IKBS Caged Bearing System and Deadbolt Lock to the Kit Carson, M16, Classic Tactical Series of Folders; that's what they should have done from the start; Kit Carson would absolutely luv this one, I believe... I am digging this one, Bro... :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)

Yes, it is! This is one cool and heavy-duty Tactical Folder. I will be doing a disassembly Video on this one; I want to tune and lube it, since it's going to be a User for me. That's when I'll find out more about the Assist and whether or not it can be de-assisted for those that desire to not have an assisted folder; stay tuned... It will be my next Video... Dead bolt looks nice! But yes the assisted opening on this takes away from fidget factor? Hopefully They will redo these in several configurations!? & maybe a usa or Italian made model too! I really want a Italian crkt crossbones, as its a frame lock not a liner lock, but price difference is huge too! ✌️🤟🤙

Frame-Lock Crossbones... I will have to check that one out, too... Personally, the assist on this one works great and you can still open and close safely with one hand. But, I do agree, that CRKT needs to make Manual Versions, too... :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)

That knife would be so much better if they made it manual…….. there going to lose so much money that blade looks great but it’s assisted!!!!!!
@Kris_Stiletto2 жыл бұрын
I am a manual folder person, too, Bro... :-) But, this one works great with the Deadbolt-Lock. It gives it just enough assist to make sure you don't fail it while opening, like what happens sometimes with the Deadbolt. Also, the way it appears to be constructed, you might be able un-assist it; though, I don't know, I have not taken one apart, yet... :-) And, also, this is just one beautiful Tactical Folder. It looks like it's "Fit to Fight!" The M16 with a Deadbolt... That's so cool, to me. The M16 was the first CRKT Folder I ever bought. And, to see it become a Deadbolt Folder with IKBS, that "ROCKS!" :-) I absolutely luv it! :-) It feels like a Recon 1 on "Steroids!" :-) It feels super heavy-duty and strong. No blade movement at all and it still operates super smooth. Those that like the SDUEDC Heavy-Duty 4" Blade Folders will, I think, absolutely luv this one. Especially, those that like Stout American Tanto Blades... (Like me...) :-) They're making smaller versions, too... :-) Right on, Bro. I totally get the dislike of Assisted and Automatic Folders; to me, they're the past... I like to open and close with one hand manually... This one is easy to do that with, too. You just can't whip it close. So, it opens fast and closes slow. But, you can open and close with one hand, easily. Negative: Mine, does have some button stick. I will most likely take it apart and tune and lube it and see how it's built. That will be the next Video on it. So far, I am digging this one, Bro; it, "ROCKS!!!" :-) Peace, Stiletto :-)
