I have a 2019 FX Cruiser HO with 43 hours on it. Initially, (like most new ski owners) I would get off my ski near shore and I would walk my ski up to the shore and beach my ski three times at most before I purchased a sand anchor and that is all I use now without beaching my ski. I have no imperfections on the underside of my hull whatsoever but all throughout the hull center it is very, and I mean very slightly faded to the point where maybe I’m over exaggerating about it. Is this due to normal saltwater friction stripping away the coating or is there something I can add to prevent additional discoloration/coating wear? By the way, your videos are very informative, keep up the great work.

Salt water friction? No. You can repaint the hull, clear coat the hull or treat the hull. Kevin did a whole live session on this topic that is worth watching if you haven't already.

My hull on my 2020 gp1800 got scratched up a few weeks ago on some hidden rocks, how do I repair it before it delaminates ?

Hi, I love your channel, you are very honest, informative & not bias of ski brand's. I'm not shore if you are able to assist me regarding the color code for the blue color on my 2016 FZS, just have a couple small scratches I'm wanting to touch up correctly? I slid my old Sea Doo up on the load ramp but my Yamaha has to be used like a boat not a Sea Doo.. i.e. dock it, and anchor it and you'll be fine.

People do dumb things on Seadoo's, people do dumb things on Kawasaki's, people do dumb things on Yamaha's......but by far the greatest percentage of hull delaminations happen on the newer Yamaha's, not because Yamaha riders are any dumber but because there is a problem. Yamaha should be fixing them not trying to duck their responsibility.

But the percentage of people having problems are due to misuse and poor treatment of the product itself.

Must be crap always worrying about your JetSki.. Go out and enjoy it, maintain and look after the ski then the manufacturer will look after you if there ever happens to be a warranty fault, pretty simple concept..

Real simple. If Yamaha decline it due to “impact” go to your insurance company and they will have to cover it.

They don’t have to cover it at all. If the users doing something that’s not it’s intended use (as far as I’m aware, driving on land isn’t a jetskis intended use?) and purposely being a moron, it will be declined. Insurance isn’t just there as a money pit for when you decide to be stupid!

@@watercraftjournal Not at all just a statement from seeing so many Yamaha hull failures and not a single one being honoured by the manufacturers warranty, I never bought a Yamaha because of this problem they have but unfortunately a lot of friends did and never bought one again after or had fiberglass hulls made and the top deck cut off and reglued back onto the new stronger fiberglass hull and it worked very well, just a shame it wasn't made strong like that in the first place.
