I followed the war as a 13 year old. Most of the men who fought were just 20 years old. That age gap seems tiny but their achievements and experiences are worlds away from mine. Total respect.

I did the same Mike I was the same age. It actually inspired me to join the army, I did and never looked back.

Respect to the Paras and all our forces who fought in the Falklands. Some of those who died were just 17 or 18 years old. My friend Stevie Young was out there with the Engineers. He died in 2015 from cancer. He told me that the cold at night was unbearable. It was summertime in the UK when that war was fought. I'd forgotten that it was wintertime in the South Atlantic. I hope the Paras win the fight to get Corporal McLaughlin a VC. His bravery is mentioned by everyone in 3 Para.

The Royal British Legion have for decades supported UK Veterans and their families, however in recent years we’ve seen a decline in services as they continue to close respite centres, drop in centres and hubs for veterans. while they hoard large sums of public donations and their staff salary bill reaches over £45m per year. They are selling buildings off at a vast rate and reducing their reach for vulnerable veterans, their conduct is questionable and it’s almost impossible to get anyone to take ownership of this lawless charity!
