I wonder if you could suggest a macro studio setup for folks on a budget? Your work is stunning and I’ve tried to replicate the effect using LED reading lamps, black cardboard and trial and error but the results are disappointing. I do have a decent camera, macro lens and speedlight though, and I’m curious to hear your thoughts re: whether there are equipment alternatives, or whether i bite the bullet and get studio lighting, soft boxes, etc.

If your on a budget then speedlight is the way to go, especially for macro.

What is the advantage of using a slider vs in camera focus bracketing?
