Lose the music -- I would have much preferred hearing their voices, especially Brenda's. She was well loved by her co-workers and castmates on "Days of Our Lives." That was where she was working when their son Christopher died and when she took her life. With today's complete sophistication with digital, this near-six-minute compilation could have been offered in dual presentations/formats: 1) with the audio tracks from these TV clips and 2) with 'Still Loving You' playing. That way all Bill Bixby and Brenda Benet fans can be satisfied. Until we "get there," and now that I've heard it; next time I watch Bill and Brenda together I'll do it on 'mute.' . . . . So, one of the comments specifies why the Bixby-Benet marriage fizzled. Bixby's work load a significant factor apparently. What about her first marriage, to Paul Petersen? He was popular back then, early 1960s, from playing Jeff on the eight-year running "The Donna Reed Show." Regarding these scenes: Bill looks likable, heroic and romantic -- the desired characteristics for a lead in a TV series or lead guest star. May I suggest . . . Be sure and check out his cold-blooded assassin guest shot on a 1974 episode of "The Streets of San Francisco" entitled 'Target: Red.' He almost outsmarts Karl Malden and Michael Douglas. And you see a very ugly side to his already demented character. The day of his assignment to assassinate a visiting Chinese official (hence the title, 'Red') he has drinks with, then makes love to, one of the most beautiful women in San Francisco, who happens to be a hooker. Then in cold-blooded fashion STRANGLES her. Cheryl Miller, the pretty blonde teenager from CBS' "Daktari" the previous decade, portrays the beauty. In the looks department, circa mid '70s, one would be hard pressed to answer: "who is prettier, Brenda Benet or Cheryl Miller?" TMI alert. Okay, now a memorable Brenda Benet guest appearance; it too with an adult theme. In his final year playing The Virginian James Drury is paired with Benet in 1971's 'The Town Killer.' Far from the coziness of Shiloh Ranch, its foreman the Virginian faces imminent death in 12 hours due to Insurmountable odds of all these despicable, dishonest men completely taking over a small Wyoming town. Benet plays a local, the strong, sympathetic woman who's ashamed of her store-owner father for caving into this organized-crime-type mob's demands. She tells her father so and defiantly goes to be with the Virginian for his last night on earth at his campsite outside of town. Some defensive strategy is discussed by the new couple. In the grand scheme of things she gives herself to him; she's definitely attracted to him and he as well to her; and admires him. And, not to sound corny, wants to let him have his last night on this earth be one of love and passion, provided by a willing individual, her. . . . A miracle happens and the two survive the next morning's mayhem. In typical TV fashion the Virginian survives to be seen in another episodes of "The Men from Shiloh," the title of the revamped "The Virginian's" 9th and final season. Bill Bixby, R.I.P.
