It’s still one of my favorite skates. Groove tricks are more doable in the next shell size up, since the H-block is bigger.

What I love most about this model is if o was to design one this would be them groove tricks are fine trust me you fully commit to the trick and really sit into the grinds it works infact I learned tricks in these top souls on minis there’s so much more frame you have more to land on. They take getting used to I’m not gonna lie but once you do you will find yourself skating these more because it helps you really lock in on a grind properly being that you have to use good technique to get your grinds. Then go back to an anti set up. So maybe learn the trick on anti master on the 80’s and go back to 60 or antis for showing off. Don’t let the big wheels fall ya I was front siding red shiny brick walls on these bad boys if you skate aeon already you gonna love these everything feels like less work skating the bowl you maintain you speed for longer i personally thought the raw 85A was a perfect wheel for flying about and was fine being the extra speed made up for the softness. Although I also used the 87A go project wheels with the old aeon 80s and they was sick to. I found my self skating to the skate park more to. I could just roll up do some shit and skate home. The frames being fixed means you are a fair bit nearer to the ground and tho not being that much maybe a inch max you feel so much more planted to the ground I’m thinking of pre ordering 2 pairs incase they sell out lol

I'm a big wheel distance skater with a short track background and this skate is a super fun way for me to dip my toe in at the park without sacrificing the speed i'm used to. a big problem for me on traditional aggressive skates is booting out when i get low to accelerate, and while that can still happen on this skate, it's a lot more manageable. Downsides are that the H-block groove is pretty narrow and won't connect with some fatter copings unless you anti-rocker. Also royales seem pretty impossible with the angle needed to put the h block and sole in contact with the rail at the same time being super super low. Not that i know how to royale anyway. But yeah, really fun to flow around the park with, great for lazy people who want to keep speed from feature to feature.

Skating the Kizer level 2 (76mm) "powerblade" frames unlocked a lot of enjoyment and new ways of using a skatepark for me. A lot of that also transferred back to normal aggressive skates so it was a permanent upgrade in style I think. These look like a very similar frame height / H block to the level 2 frames, but with 80mm wheels. The lace hooks scare me - had those on skates once and you can hook your feet together on cross overs - beware!

I have proper enjoyed throwing some Compass 80mm frames on my Sway boot and hitting the skatepark. Having a hint of a H Block on the Aeon 80 would open up a lot of possibilities for my skating.

I have the 72s with Myfit skinnys and I love them! Only issue has been choosing a new set of 72mm wheels as good as the stock ones are!

I've got really thin feet so I've always massively benefitted from the mid straps so it's kinda gutting that they've seemed to have dropped them from most lines now. I kept a load of spares so it's easy enough to swap them on each time but yeah, I get why most people never needed them. Also, wish they'd show some more love to the 72 version and release another colour, always been my favourite out of the three.

I got aeon 80s like a year or 2 ago and they did include a mid-strap. maybe this new version doesn't, but if you buy a replacement strap there are definitely holes to bolt it on.

In a park they are also better than standard skates for stalls or just dropping into ramps.

Wonder what those would ride like if you anti - rockered them but with a 53 to 55 mm wheel in the center. Maybe also 92-95a on the hardness.

yeah that frame might be plastic but it's rigid as, i remember hurting my feet with the original aeon 80s just cruising my regular roads! definitely be aware if you're looking into this skate - it's a cheap and easy fix. otherwise it's great, especially in that colour!

Does this also come with the thick (20mm) shock absorber? For me (skating 3 aeons) the thick one did not work, broke the feeling of the skate, I can only use it with the 10mm piece. Also I noticed, when you showed the footbed that the tip of it is is curled up. Just a protip for anyone interested, that happens because they put in the longer footbed in the shorter liner. If you are on the lower end of the dual size (like me 43 feet in the 43/44 aeon) you don't stretch out the liner in the front and the footbed can get curled up. This is a problem, because then you can get the numb feet sensation in you aeons. Solution cut the end of the footbed.

Mine are the older grey and gold version but they only came with a 20mm shock absorber. It was WAY too much heel lift for my super flexible ankles. I tried to ride no absorber at first but the liners don't actually fit all the way down into the heel, which tapers underneath the absorber. ended up using some random heel and arch only orthotics i bought on amazon and it's a decent fix.

@emmetsmith6402 the old Aeons came with 2x 10mm shock absorbers with the idea to stack them. I always rode my aeons with 1 absorber and loved them. When I bought one and it had the thick absorber it was realky sloppy, I couldn't ride it.
