Though I disagree with some of your rankings, I really appreciated your takes on the novels! Its always interesting to view different takes on these stories, and yours were well put. Personally, my least favorite is Rebel Rising (keep in mind I havent read Crash of Fate or Poe Dameron yet), and to see your excitement for it was vastly different. I dont think anything will ever top Lost Stars, though Leia came close for me in YA, not to mention I absolutely loved Queen's Peril (another shock watching this video)

Most Wanted really is one of my favourite Star Wars books. Super underrated.

You are right that your No. 4 book is controversial, but only because I’d have it higher! Most Wanted is one of my favorite Star Wars books in general, YA or adult, canon or legends. Such an underrated gem and it gives some much appreciated love to Qi’ra. Great video!

I hope we get a lost stars 2 soon 😭😭 but my favorite Star Wars books is “lords of the sith”. Such a well written book. The author needs to make more Star Wars books.

I just got Into the Dark and can't wait to read!

As of now I've only read a few Star Wars YA novels. Lost Stars is also my favorite!

great ranking! will you do SW adult novels next?

Omg tell me how you really feel about Free Fall 😂😂😂😂😂😂 Pretty much agree with your thoughts here, with the exception of Crash of Fate, which I'd rank higher. Good stuff!

My first Star Wars book was “Queens Shadow” and I wasn’t too impressed with EKJ’s attempt to write Padmé, but it was ok. Reading Ahsoka has me questioning how it’s the same author since I’m liking it a lot more (specially the third act, the beginning dragged). Honestly, just want to have Queens Peril in my book collection for the pretty book cover...I agree with you, something up with the author and LF need to let her go...

Cool! Can you do the heroes of Olympus next :) I never saw the star wars novels but I will probably read them next

I wished the Cassian series was just a Rogue One prequel series as a whole, with the inclusion of showing the other Rogue One main characters as well. Rogue One's cast of main characters were really interesting and I really wanted to know more about them.

Just give Star Wars to Claudia Grey. Why won't they just give Star Wars to Claudia Grey. And Mur Lafferty. And maybe Rae Carson.

And Charles Soule and Cavan Scott. The two of them and Claudia Gray are my favorite Star Wars authors.

I totally agree with your ranking!! Lost Stars is the cream of the crop for me! I think Star Wars has to look at their YA books as fantasy books taking place in Star Wars and not Star Wars happening in YA. I feel Lucasfilm is getting away from the reason why people want to read Star Wars YA, people want stories which is the essence of Star Wars, not the titles or safe characters.

So far I’ve only read Ahsoka and it was a preview copy. She’s probably my favorite character, so I’d love to reread a “good” copy sometime.

Hey, I'm currently looking for a new SW book to read ... I really loved Lost Stars and the first Thrawn books was pretty good ... Does anyone have any recommendations for other good books?
@joemullarkey57193 жыл бұрын
I’d recommend getting into the High Republic series. Light of the Jedi is the first book and it instantly reached up to my second favorite Star Wars book. That book particularly is very plot driven compared to other books, though so are the Thrawn books so I think you’d like it.

I think I generally agree with your list, but for me I would put the Padme books a little higher and "Into the Dark" a lot lower. Your high rank for "Most Wanted" is definitely not going to get any argument from me. That is a great book! And it really sets up the Solo movie well. 👍

Just wondering, do you read books or listen to them? Which do you prefer?

both and it depends on the book

I also don't like EK Johnston's writing. I was so excited to read the Ahsoka and Queen's books but they were all so disappointing :( I do agree Queen's Shadow is the exception, but it's not brilliant by any means. You made me imagine Christie Golden writing Ahsoka and Padmé and omg I want it so badly 🥺
@saimikorhonen16583 жыл бұрын
Out of curiosity, what do you mean with E.K. Johnston's weird takes and internalised misogyny? You really seem to dislike her.
@StillWaitingForMySatyr3 жыл бұрын
There is a lot of drama with her in online spaces, she has some really bad takes when it comes to anakin and kylo ren and I just dont understand why LF wants her to write those stories.

Hey I would like to add ahsoka isn't a gray jedi. She is just a lightside force user that doesn't align with the ideals of the jedi concuil. Gray jedi don't fundamentally work in Canon because once you introduce the idea that you can use the dark side and the light with no consequences it breaks the lore.
