I have to say I really enjoy your flight videos. I grew up and lived in Davis for 25 years and recognize most of the areas you fly in. Both of my parents worked at UCD and in the early 70's my dad would load up the mini bikes and take us to the Yolo Country Airport and we would speed up and down the run ways as fast as our little 5 hp motors would take us. I spent a lot of time up at Lake Berryessa fishing, swimming, water skiing and hiking those amazing hills. We floated Cash Creek and the upper Putah Creek dozens and dozens of times and hiked deep into those rugged mountains. Knights landing and a place called the hog farm was my second home once me and my friends got our drivers license. We spent many a week end fishing for sturgeon, strippers and cat fish. I suspect they knew that our love of night fishing revolved around beer and as long as we were not to stupid they looked the other way. lol We swam, fished and boated in every lake and river from Tahoe to Clear Lake out to Point Rays and the Delta in the spring and summer and hunted ducks and pheasants in the bypass in the fall. I lived in an historic house built in the late 1880's right on Putah Creek just south of the Davis airport for a few years. I have fond memories of the Sacramento valley area and especially the coast range. We moved to Alaska in 1982 searching new adventures, got married and raised our family here. Keep those flight videos coming, thanks.

Sounds just like when we came here in 1968--from Colorado. But, alas, the old NorCal of back then, is gone forever! Thanks for sharing your story, though.

Went to UCD, BS 72 and Masters 75. Worked at Travis and had a Cessna 120 at the Davis airport. Kayaked everything in Northern California and flew to all the little airports.

Thank you! Everything is fine! I have just run out of the desire to fly any more, after cramming 3,000 hours into just over 10 years. So I am selling my Sting at a very good price--if you know someone who is looking. I am opening a new business to keep me busy during the last quarter of this game.

Richard, Just letting you know, your flying, your KZbin channel, and countless posts on maintaining your Sting S3 have greatly encouraged and helped me. I am now a private pilot, and Sting S3 owner. Almost 300 hours now and 1 year of PP flying!! I also have a youtube channel now as well... Light Sport Pilot Adventures. Please check it out! Thank you for doing what I know you love!! And, posting so many videos of your adventures. You have inspired a generation and more ways than you know!!! Hope you are doing well!! Sad that you are not flying anymore. Cheers!!! Rob.

Thank you for the videos, for the great views and especially for the good advices. Unfortunately, not only maintenance manual didn't covers all of nuances, but POH too. It would be great if you draw our attention to working with throttle and prop pitch in different modes. Safe flights!

Well, the only videos I will be putting up now, will be re-runs, since I sold my Sting exactly 1 week ago, for pennies on the dollar, after running her peddle-to-the-metal for 12 years and 3,100 hours. It was darned fun--and I only nearly killed myself about a dozen times! I'm going 4-wheeling in NV during the rest of my time here.
