Sting was great, unique sound & highly talented voice. Huge following

Sting wrote this song after he bought a house next to a barley field. he sunsets and the colors of the field were an inspiration for the song lyrics,, along with his love at the time, Trudie Styler, whom he married in 1992. is wife has said that the song is one of her favorites. t's bittersweet but knowing that the joy is going to end someday because we all pass in the end.

My mom was 83 when she passed but before she did, she loved listening to this song. I think of her every time I hear this. I hope that she is dancing in fields of gold ❤

Beautiful song.

The key to the meaning is given away by the video in which you see Sting’s character is a ghost or spirit. He’s not just a guy thinking about the good old days, he’s in the spirit world reflecting on his days on earth and especially those beautiful times on the old farm when all was good.

My son and daughter did this song at a school concert - daughter singing, son on guitar, music teacher on piano, it was a very proud parent moment!!

This is when Sting showed us that he was much more than just a rocker. "The Dream of the Blue Turtles" is a must-have album.

I think he had been showing us that for a long time before this album ("Ten Summoner's Tales"). I agree about "The Dream of the Blue Turtles."

What a great voice. Distinctive. Solid. Smooth. I had forgotten how sexy Sting was. This is an artsy video but so very appropriate and subtly entertaining. This guy is class (like his friend Phil Collins).

my favorite sting song by far. it's so good it brings tears to my eyes every time. saw the POLICE in late '83 on the 'synchronictity tour. one of the top 10 concerts i've ever been to. and that's probably close to 200 concerts. 3 guys putting out a wall of sound.

Sting had good songs, but one in particular was “ I’ll Be Watching You, “ in 1984, great song, more of a rocker!👍 👀 ♥️
