Are you purposely feeding Sting’s ego? I mean, the song is beautiful, but don’t tell him that, silly!! He is so amazed by himself already, just his essence, his very existence; I just don’t think he needs your help. He wouldn’t even notice you kissing his ass, he would just expect it.

The thing about Sting is, despite his talent, he struggles to create songs as a solo artist that are as interesting as what he created in the Police. I think he needs to have the full contributions of other band members, not just studio musicians hired to do what they're told. The result is better when it's a product of collaboration. It's the same case with David Hinds and Steel Pulse.

Dear Sting: yep, I got it. I got your message in a bottle. But...it's funny. I'm 37 years old: I grew up hearing this song on the radio countless times - have been hearing your "message" for as long as I can remember. Yet I've always taken it for granted, like rising and setting of the sun. It's just always been there. But today - to hear you sing it in May 2020, in lockdown, just you in your studio - the content of your "message" is different than all the other times. It hit me fresh and new. Marvelous composition. By the way I'm a music teacher (choir director, music theory) on Long Island, New York. Thank you for thinking of us New Yorkers, Sting. 🙏

Of particular note : When Sting shouted out his " adopted home " New York , as a musician from here , it really resonated with me. Many don't know this story : After the Police disbanded , and Sting went solo., they where at the height of musical success . Sting could have worked with anyone of his choosing ; put together another all star rock band - instead - he went against the grain , came here to New York., and hired the baddest cats from the jazz world to be his touring band . People were surprised : " Why would Sting hire ' black jazz ' musicians to tour with him ? Well , as a truly courageous person and visionary , he formed the " Dream of The Blue Turtles " band which would give him more platinum selling albums , and sell out stadium tours around the world. Sting would continue on this path for years to come , hiring the best from both Jazz and Classical idioms ; he had a winning formula , that proved music is truly universal and reaches across all racial , cultural , and socio / economic barriers. Look at how P Diddy and the world of hip hop reached out to Sting and he came through for them , performing a tribute with Diddy and other hip hop / RnB artists for Biggie Smalls at the American Grammys . We salute you Sting , big ups from NYC , we never will forget what you did for us man ... May God bless you and your loved ones and may they remain healthy and safe . I was an 18 years old University student when The Police rose to fame in 1979/80 during the Punk and then New Wave era. Sting sings as good now as he did 40+ years ago. Brings back some awesome memories of Manchester, UK in the early 80's. Happy days.....

This is a great performance, but let's be honest now, his voice has deteriorated substantially since his peak. It's not a criticism, it's called ageing.

Just, singling in a more manageable key ( lower) easier to hit the notes!

My favorite Englishman, first time saw him in the movie 'DUNE' didn't know he could sing but saw his name on the credit as Sting. Years later then I realized who he is, one of my all time favorite 'Fragile' great performance Sir! During this period of time I'm glad I stayed at home to be able to watch this, I think we owed much to the frontline that risked their life along side those affected with the virus. My prayers to all of them & may Allah grant us success in overcome this Jihad of ours, God willing! Love from Singapore.

Sting, you are one of the best looking aging star I have seen in a long time. I tell the kids over here in America, "don't get sick"! It is the best advice in these days,

He displayed more talent in just 10mn and 36 seconds than other artists during their entire life.

So, what is it with some people and these types of perspective/comments? They tend to show up pretty much everywhere, so it's not the actual art, but the 'beholder' at question. What is this weird cultural shit? lol an offshoot of 'cancel culture'?
@Tam101019994 жыл бұрын
He was good but it depends on what other artists you're comparing him to..there are a few legends out there and class acts and sorry to say as much as I liked the police and sting hes not the best.

probably Sting never going to see this comment, but message in a bottle, synchronicity 2 and king of pain are really important songs in my life, thanks for that message master

@@CraigMansfield i never see it mentioned but it's easily my favourite song by the police it has no relevance to my life and i can't relate to it one bit but it still strikes an amazing chord with me

@@shmiqqy It's great energy. "Every meeting with his so-called superior, is a humiliating kick in the crotch". I can well relate. But it's the energy in the song me. Love it :) 👍 you've got good taste

Me encantó la versión "In My Room", pero claro, solo artistas como Sting podrían hacer un trabajo como ese. Vaya pedazo de artista! aplausos eternos.
