would love to see him stick at it, theres so much stuff he hasnt even unlocked yet, he doesnt even have arcanas yet, i cant even imagine a build without arcanas (also tom if you're reading this there are 'cheat codes' you can use to unlock everything if you dont want to spend a gazillion hours finishing every quest)

Always great to see Vampire Survivors still being played. I gotta say though, out of all the discussion around this game I rarely see anymore mention the soundtrack. The soundtrack is insanely good! One of the best I've heard to be honest!

in terms of tall vs wide, my personal preference is to go tall on maps with less pickups and go wide on maps with more pickups, cuz it takes a long time to travel to all the pickups so going wide ensures i can start taking the items on the map earlier in the run

In case you forgot, you can kill death by getting the laurel and freeze lance, then getting the 4 items that create mini bosses (the two rings and the two arrow glyphs) and they let you upgrade those both to super OP items. And in general yes, it's better to get all your passives filled before getting more weapons so you can roam the map and overfill on passives.

You should get the Randomazzo so you can use Arcanas during your runs. You can get it from Gallo Tower, just follow the green arrow to the top of the map. (Edit: My bad, you already have it, it's just toggled off in stage select.) In The Bone Zone is also The Forbidden Scrolls, if you defeat a boss that's highlighted as a ? on the map, which will allow you to unlock anything in the game with "magic spells" (cheats codes), if you'd like to skip to any particular thing for a video. The full list of spells are on the wiki. Love seeing Vampire Survivors on the channel again, original and best!

I’m like 95% sure Tom had them unlocked in the old videos. Only guess is cards are turned off while trying to relearn the game, or got lost in an update/deleted a save

Do a pentagram build, you are going to love the final upgrade. and do both rings, both red symbols, laurel and clock lancet.

Luck is one of the best passive weapons. More items from breaking stuff and a higher chance of getting multiple upgrades from chests. It is usually one of my auto takes whenever it comes up. Also the speed upgrade is really good. Unfortunately the character you were using, Poe, is incredibly slow. With full speed upgrades you can zoom around the map and get every upgrade pretty easily. If you want a ridiculously powerful build there is a character that gets a bonus projectile and you just stack up projectile weapons on them and the bonus projectile passive weapon.

MYEH! Unoptimal plays! Love this game tho! A hot move I try to do every time is to get a pair of the weapons that combine so later on you get to pick a new one! If you plan around the map pickups you can get very stronk

You want to get all the weapons you want to have as quickly as possible before leveling up. If any you want are on the map you only want to pick them up after you are full on weapons.

Love that you are playing this again, what a great game! For a goal maybe you could try and unlock Queen Sigma, as I think she is the most powerful characters of the original set (cast?) of characters.

Collect the two rings and both of the red arrows on the map and level them up to max You want to start in one direction of the map from the start. Otherwise, you won't have time to collect them before death.
