Watching this video makes me really proud to come from such a beautiful and historic town. It's funny how after leaving a while ago, has only now made me appreciate that. When I was growing up there you just take your surroundings for granted.

Excellent! Well put together. A great advert for Stirling, and should be used by local tourist association.

I came to Stirling University from East Kilbride (a town with NO history worth noting) in 1985...and have been here ever since In 2014 the Bannockburn Heritage Centre and Wallace Monument re-open after refurbishment, and the Burgh is host to Pipefest, various Homecoming events, Bloody Scotland and Paranormal Scotland. I lead people around the Old Town on the Stirling GhostWalk (a great way to learn a little about the odder aspects of local history and folklore - more of that on my channel, for those who may be interested), and I'm always glad to see people trumpeting the glories of 'The Key To Scotland'.

***** Supposedly, the Tolbooth (a combination courtroom, council chambers, tax-office and prison - which also served briefly, at different times, as a police station and workhouse...but is now a theatre) has more reports of ghostly sightings and experiences than anywhere else in the town. I know lots of people who claim to have had ghostly encounters there - featuredin my book 'Haunted Stirling'...though I used the supposedly haunted Condemned Cell as an office for years, and saw nothing, myself. Being a theatre, the public can get access - though not, now, to the cells, which are now used for storage and recording studios.
