Stirring my large steaming leaf pile with Case IH D45 loader tractor.

As many of you know I have posted several videos of deer acting crazy on my leaf pile. The center of this pile is four years old but this fall I removed and spread out about half of the outside of it to make room for the fall '22 leaves. A few days ago I measured the temps with my laser thermometer gun and had a high of 117 degrees with a ground temp of 45 and ambient air temp around 53 degrees. The 117 reading was at about four feet from the center so I'm assuming the center is much warmer. @ JS Project Wild

I'm subscribing! It's very interesting to watch the videos on your compost leaf pile and the deer sniffing the nitrous. What part of the country are you in?

Thanks Zachary, I appreciate that! Midwest. A few weeks ago it was -12 degrees for 4 days yet the chemical reaction inside that leaf pile remained well over 100 degrees.
