Thank you! I use wilton gel food coloring- and I used regular blue, cornflower blue, and sky blue. His ears are a mix of pink and burgundy, and then just black.

First time user here, so a few questions: How deep do you make the hole in the bottom for attaching to the cake? How far ahead do you make your gum paste topper? should the head dry completely before attaching to the body? Thanks! love the video!

The head and ears do need to be dry to attach safely to the head. But you must have your pilot hole in the head before it dries to attach to the body. The stick went down into the cake maybe 4” but in this posture of sitting, you don’t need to go so deep. You can make gum paste figured a few weeks to a month in advance if you aren’t going to eat it. If you are going to eat it, don’t make it more than a week early.
