I'm doing mine in multiple of 12. My chain is 240. Do I add 2 or 4 to that to start the first set of double crochet before making my 1st valley after my 7 count of double crochet. The adding on the extra count always confuses me.

I am using the same color yarn for this entire pattern for a throw blanket and it's getting confusing following you when you change colors. I try doing the decrease stitch and by the 3rd row I am short 2 stitches to make the decrease. How do I keep working on this with the same color yarn? I've taken my 2nd (single stitch) and 3rd (double stitch) rows apart 2 times now and keep running into the same issue. In the video on the first top point you DC, chain 2, then DC. Do you DC in the same chain with the DC or in the next chain?

ok. I found it at the end of the video. can this be worked in all DC or is there a purpose for the SC?
@CreativeGrandma7 жыл бұрын
The pattern can be worked in all dc, the sc was for design purposes. You can make it either way. Have fun crocheting.

I've always wanted to learn how to do this stitch. I'm fairly new to crocheting and so I'm just wondering about the ends....they look like they are going in diagonally on each side, like you're decreasing with each color change. Is this just how it appears? I know you said you don't work into that chain stitch where you change directions but I just am trying to understand. Thanks!!!
@CreativeGrandma7 жыл бұрын
Hello Teresa, It is just the way it looks on the photo, so ignore the photo, follow the video and please do not work the chain stitches I indicate, as when you skip the chs at the ends this is what gives you the straight line up the sides of your work, it is an illusion when you first start the next row that you may have done something wrong and it is not right, BUT it is right and after working a few rows you will see it is correct. If you work in the ch stitches it will actual increase your stitches at the end of each side and deform your afghan. Please let me know if you were able to make a sample swatch to see what I mean. If you have any problems just email me again and I will help you figure it out. Read more

every time i go about 6 rows up my gets longer how do i stop that
@CreativeGrandma7 жыл бұрын
Hello Linda, since i can't see what you are doing I am going to guess your mistake is at the beginning or ending of the rows, in my video I make sure I point out which stitch to go in. when working this stitch, you have to becareful at the beginning and end where you insert your hook, so please refer to the video and careful watch which stitch to go in at the beginning and at the end, I am sure this is where you making your mistake. Please let me know how you make out and if this not the problem I will try to figure it out what your doing wrong.
