I recently picked crochet back up after almost a decade of inactivity. While I'm not brand-spanking-new, I'm closer to novice than intermediate stage. The big difference is my G'ma isn't here to guide me. I miss her for so many reasons & crochet definitely makes the list! She would flip if she saw the opportunities social media affords. I still wish she was here to show me but I'm thankful that people like you lend your talents to help teach those of us who are visual learners. I've been scouring KZbin, Google & Pinterest for this stitch pattern since last night & this is the BEST demonstration I've seen. Thanks so much for sharing!!!

Ditto to the comment below. I also went through several tutorials before I understood the patten and concept of crocheting a diamond trellis. Seemingly simple info like 27 cast on stitches = 26 workable stitches, the use of stitch markets and different colored yarns helped me enormously. Very thorough and very clear. Thank you 👌

Thank you so much for taking the time to demonstrate this stitch. I could never have mastered it without your video. I really appreciate it! The stitch markers are a great idea. I usually only use markers when I am crocheting a round, but they were a life saver on this stitch, making my progress much quicker. Thanks again!

I watched another video description of this stitch and through 4 attempts, I always ended up with an extra stitch in the previous row to try to figure out putting the T2T into. I believe she was starting with the wrong chain count, so I ended up with caddy-whumpus ends of 7.5 diamonds instead of 8. She also failed showed the end of her rows, and didn't give a "cluster" count... so instead of ending up with 8 full diamonds, I ended up with 7.5 every single time... so I am completely grateful for your wonderful explanation of this beautiful stitch.

Wow! That's a different way of doing it than I learned-- and it looks MUCH better. I've never been happy with this stitch, mostly because the instructions I followed always directed to place two bottom stitches next to each other, not using the TC 2Tog. I have to try this! Thank you!

Beautiful!! Approx how many inches would each 4 stitches add? Thank you for sharing!
@CreativeGrandma7 жыл бұрын
Hello Karen, For this video I used a size 10-J hook with worsted weight Red Heart super saver yarn, so each 4 stitches should give you approx 1 1/2 inch increase. It all depends on what yarn you use which determines your hook size that is why I don't usually give a hook size as if someone wanted to do this stitch in a fingering yarn the hook would be much smaller and so would the stitch length for increases. I think the size 10-J hook is the perfect size if using Red heart Super saver yarn. Thanks for watching my video.

what size of hook
@CreativeGrandma7 жыл бұрын
Hello Gloria, and welcome to my channel, for the stitch sample in the video I used a size 10-J hook with the Red Heart Super Saver worsted weight yarn, I think it is the perfect size for that yarn, however the hook size depends on what yarn you will be using so always refer to the label on your yarn as a guide. Not always the case but best to look at your yarn labels, most yarns tell you the recommended hook size. Thanks for stopping by my videos. Happy crocheting!!

This pattern has given me a headache. I thought I was doing good (after 3 other failed vodeos) but after row 3, I get 27 dc's. I don't think I'm supposed to do this stitch. I think I've got it! I might have counted my ch1. 🤞
@robinmoore72024 жыл бұрын
Will someone please explain the multiples on this project? I can’t make sense of “14 plus 1 plus a multiple of 4 chain with each increase”. I can’t even figure out how the sample of 27 works out with this formula. Help! 😱
@robinmoore72024 жыл бұрын
I think I figured it out 😁

To make sure it's multiples of 4 plus 1 isn't it ?!
