Thank you for watching!
In this video, I'll make a stitch sampler by stitching small designs in 3cmx3cm squares (I drew a grid of 11 squares x 7 squares).
The purpose of this project is to experiment with your creativity and purely enjoy the stitchng! I wanted to stitch without worrying too much about techniques and styles, so I mixed different types of stitching.
It's a great project to create a unique piece of your own.
I hope you'll enjoy this project!

Because of this and another channel I have ordered some sashiko needles, thread, leather palm thimble, and some fabric marking pens. I'll try with fabrics I already have from my remnants collection or salvaged from old clothes.

This is so beautiful. I just received my first kit. Maybe, just maybe, one day in the future I will be able to make something like this. I need to take a break from crocheting and quilt making. I find sashiko to be intriguing and lovely.

@creepycutiecrafty6637 Sashiko with multiple patterns are often called Yosemoyo. They are common but I haven’t done them on video as they take very long time to complete😅 It’s a great idea to make a small Yosemoyo👍

Wow is this superb - so many designs at one go tqvm for sharing - can i ask what do people do with samplers ( am new at this ) tqvm
@thegreenwrapper
@thegreenwrapper 3 ай бұрын
Thank you! I’m also interested how people use samplers these days😊 I use them literally as stitch samples. Especially this type of sampler with experimental stitches helps when I stitch on clothes as I can’t experiment on them beforehand. Also, many people make samplers to showcase their skills or to hand down some techniques. Sashiko Hanahukin (tea towel) was also used as a sampler to hand down the technique from mothers to daughters.

To start a pattern of sashiko, do you always draw a grid on your fabric. I found it very tedious and couldn't get it even - even though I measured and used a ruler. Any hints or suggestions? I love your tutorials - you are truly very talented!
@thegreenwrapper
@thegreenwrapper 7 күн бұрын
If it’s Hitomezashi, it’s common to draw a grid but you don’t have to. You can stitch free hand as well. It can require more skills though. I normally stick a piece of fabric with a masking tape on a large cutting mat, and draw lines following the lines on the mat. From 00:50 in this video, I’m drawing a grid on a cutting mat⬇️ kzbin.info/www/bejne/d3TToZ95jatriassi=fvbHJMpscdTlVIDQ If it’s hard to draw small squares, you can draw a little larger squares such as 1cm or 1/2 in. It will be slightly harder to stitch accurately but many people do that too. For Moyozashi, you can trace a pattern. For Yokozashi, you only need your draw some vertical lines. Kogin is count stitch Sashiko, so you don’t need to draw anything in your fabric. It depends on the type of Sashiko you’d choose. For larger projects, I prefer not to draw a grid of small squares either😊
