How nice to see you pop up again! Here in Switzerland, children often wear base garments of a thin cotton roll-neck long sleeve and tights indoors, which is also a good base for slightly scratchier yarns, so maybe Eloise would be happier with her outdoor sweater if she had something between its tickly edges and her skin... ;) I'd love to see more when you embroider the monogram for yourself, either here or on IG, I'm curious about the stitches you used, they are so beautiful!

That's a good idea! She had a thin long sleeve shirt under when she tried it but I might need to see if a roll neck would work better (if I can get her head through the hole hahah) I'll be sure to show the monogram on my sweater when I work on it. I've just used some basic stitches that I found on pinterest :)

So good to see you again! I've struggled with sewing zippers into stretchy fabrics for my children's clothes too. Now I tend to iron on some 1 cm wide interfacing (seam tape?) on the stretchy fabric first along the seam line, and while it isn't perfect, it's much better.

This is a really good suggestion. I think It is laziness that prevents me from doing this but it would actually probably be faster than having to unpick the zipper multiple times!!

Funny to see you here today, I was just thinking about you yesterday, wondering how you were doing and here you are. Lovely to see all you’ve been making and your plans going forward. The long sweater is going to be so beautiful and very warm, it almost has a robe look , so easy to throw on over pyjamas until the house warms up. I’ll look forward to seeing your new videos, welcome back, I’ve always enjoyed your videos and your creativity encouraged me to get back into sewing for myself after years of not . The girls must be getting so big now, the sort of matching sweaters will look cute on them , hopefully Eloise can tolerate hers, maybe try soaking it in a little conditioner or a very light oil to soothe the fibres. 🙋🏼‍♀️

Thanks! I've never actually tried the conditioner trick but it might be worth it to try and salvage it... Maybe a thicker shirt underneath will work too. I'm looking forward to my sweater being finished and I forgot to say it in the video but I might not knit the full length. We'll see! It would be lovely and cozy as a long sweater but maybe more wearable as a short one?

I watched this episode, sort of, from my car while out and about somewhere. I loved the new pattern and especially the name. I could relate to singing it to the little people. I have always sung it while rinsing out hair at bathtime for my sisters when they were little and then our two children later on. Your efforts in knitting and sewing are amazing. Keep posting, pls.

Oh Happy Day - my fav youtuber is back! You've been seriously missed. Just love your 'Blossoms of Snow' sweaters - think maybe an adult version will come along? The Sound of Music is my fav movie - the songs!, the scenery!, the dance scene! Lucky girls to have their mama sing those precious songs to them, as well as to have such a fine, tailored wardrobe. So happy to see your video pop up today, You touched my heart hearing you talk about singing songs from The Sound of Music to your girls. This was my favorite movie as a child. I exposed that movie to my 3 grandchildren when they were little. Subsequently they learned the words to the songs. Their mommy, my daughter, played the songs often as they drove to daycare and then grade school. Everyone sang along. It put everyone in a great mood to start their day, Happy knitting and sewing.

It is lovely to see you again as I really enjoy seeing what you make & appreciate that children's clothes are included as I knit a lot for my grandchildren. The long cable cardigan is going to be amazing. I am so surprised about the yarn bleeding as I would have thought that wouldn't happen nowadays. It is always good to have children wear something under woollen garments so the itch issue doesn't arise.

Thank you. It wasn't a decision we made easily. There are many reasons that it didn't work out for us in the US and why Sweden is the right choice for our family right now. Cost of living with two children in Boulder is unmanageable, a balanced work/home life seems unattainable and the political turmoil in the country are a few of those reasons. I've been inspired by embroidery accounts I follow on Instagram!
