You can do magnets on the cheap. Amazon or Temu has badge magnets and I bought a flat metal rod at Menards to put in the leader casing. I like it a lot!

I added muslin to my zipper and then when the muslin wears out, I put new on. This saves my zippers. My muslin is four layers thick which makes the muslin last longer and more stable. Also have several zipper/muslin sets and pin the quilts to a set of zipper/muslin while watching TV in the evenings.

One year now with my longarm and all I've ever used is the Red Snappers. Can't imagine using pins because I would have to invest in band-aids! 😆

There are some of your fans out here in the boonies that don't have big frames like yours, I have a Grace frame, which only has two poles...... makes snappers really hard to use, makes magnets impossible to use, I've bought them all, and still pin half the time. PS.... I made my own leaders out of canvas, and they've worked great for years... What is the difference between needle holes and pin holes?

Not really anything. I don’t mean to ignore any quilters or their setups, but I am somewhat limited to speaking from my own experience😉 I simply don’t know about every possible setup.

I bought the SewTites to load my quilt, but found that they were not strong enough. I did make the pockets on the leaders as seen on the KZbin videos. Would not recommend. I do use them the same way you use the large magnet bars.

Yes I was disappointed. They are okay for small or baby quilts, but I found that on lap quilts or larger, the backing would pull off away or distort. I even made the pockets on the leaders 5 inches apart instead of 6 inches. I do use them for odd jobs, though, such as stabilizing the front of the quilt, attaching a temporary tension test swatch, holding the leader on the belly bar while I pin the backing, etc.

So interesting. I have no help to offer as I haven't used them myself, but I know some pro quilters who do and love them. Is it brand?? 🤷‍♀️

What I used were the SewTites. I bought them because there were good reviews, but they just didn't work consistently well for me for loading a backing. @@StitchedBySusan
