Oh my goodness! I love the story you shared at the end of your live. Thanks for sharing that. I have only just found you a few months ago, but I in for awhile since I just signed up for the Masterclass! Very excited to take this step. We met at the Sewing and Stitchery Expo in Puyallup, WA in March. I was the one who talked to you about the problems with the needle plate on my longarm bumping into my rulers. So glad you are doing what you love 😍

I have a Gammill Vision 2 and I can also program one of my switches to be a channel lock. My mind was blown when I first figured that out! Marking tip for piano keys: I use a Crayola washable marker and put my hatch marks on the batting right at the edge of the quilt. Saves me time of needing to remove marks from the actual fabric and if my piano keys aren’t too long I just need that one mark at the edge instead of spanning all the way across. (Plus if any of it happens to get on the quilt top it will wash out)
@StitchedBySusan

Excellent tip! And good to know the Gammill Vision 2 has that feature - I'll try to remember that in future when I talk about it.

Question: You always start the program with your bottom leader on top of your top bar to put the red snappers on, but I can't tell whether your top bar for your magnetic bars has a leader on it or whether it is just a bare bar? Thanks.
@StitchedBySusan
@StitchedBySusan Жыл бұрын
It’s a bare bar. I have my leader loaded onto the lower rail, and just pulled up over the upper rail. And disclaimer, that is not the BERNINA recommendation, it’s my modification and it works well for me.

Q..Why are you stitching in the ditch first on the border?
@StitchedBySusan
@StitchedBySusan Жыл бұрын
Because my intention is to quilt and all-over design in the entire center part, and piano keys in the border. So the ditch stitching stabilizes the whole perimeter, and then i can fill in the center without things shifting.

I’m new, would you recommend the monthly to start and then do the masters class?
@StitchedBySusan
@StitchedBySusan Жыл бұрын
Honestly, the Masterclass likely has more beginner-level content. The monthly membership will give you a broad range of small independent lessons, and maybe that's helpful. Monthly can be cancelled at any time, there's no minimum, so do what feels best for you❤️

What is a ruler plate? I've never done ruler work.

A ruler plate is a support that is put on before you use rulers to give you a stable surface to hold your rulers against.

About the vibration….you might try adding a small weight…1 pound…(like an ankle or wrist weight)…to minimize the vibration…
