Hi Julia, LOVE, LOVE, LOVE. Creative, primitive, great use of various fabrics and trims. Right up my alley! The nights are getting colder here in W. Michigan and the leaves are dropping fast! I plan on living in my studio (after I get it all straight) and working on several of your pieces .

Hi Phyllis, It's always such a delight hearing from you. I remember you saying you like creating landscapes. What a great way to use up bits and pieces. We had a hard freeze here a few nights back. Our leaves are done and we are preparing for the white stuff-ugh! Have fun in your studio!!! Julia

You really are truly amazing! I love what you made here. You make it look so easy, and of course use time lapse, but do you have to put a new bobbin with the new coloured cotton in every time you change colour? I suppose you must do. Thank you for sharing with us. xxx
@stitchesbyjulia2 жыл бұрын
Hi, I usually do not change my bobbin. I do use bobbin thread which is thinner than all-purpose thread. However if my tension is not set quite right and if the bobbin shows on the top, I will change my bobbin thread to match. My machine has an auto adjusting tension and it's usually right on. I'm glad you enjoyed the video! Julia

Julia, love the house. Can you explain how you scanned the image and how you created the card and envelope?
@stitchesbyjulia2 жыл бұрын
Hi Diana, I use the scanner on my printer. It is a flat bed scanner. I use the 300dpi setting. Once it is scanned, I use that image in my Procreate program on my iPad. Honestly, it's hard to teach an old dog new tricks-LOL. It's so much trial and error for me. Hopefully it'll get easier. I found a template image for the envelope and copied and pasted pieces of my textile collage on the template. At some point if I can figure it out more smoothly, I will do a video on it. Thanks so much for watching and for your comment. Julia

Hi Jennifer, I am so glad you found my channel. This is such a wonderful sewing community. Everyone is so helpful. Welcome! I have the Janome Memory Craft 8200 sewing machine. Mine is about 10 years old but this model is still available. This machine is pricey but keep in mind that most machines are capable of free motion stitching. You need a free motion foot and also need to disengage your feed dogs. A sewing machine dealer can help you. Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to comment. Julia
