I love doing embroidery panels to make baby quilts special. Especially for an adored child in my life.
This is a pattern that I asked my daughter to draw for me. I hope you love it and want to do it too!
My sister and I call this kind of embroidery "solid" embroidery. It's not really "red work" as I will do the same pattern in many colors to make different effects and different quilts.
To purchase this pattern you can follow this link to our website:

I love your “panel” idea. I also like to do individual blocks of animals, flowers, or whatever, and then piece around them for a special baby quilt. What a great pattern that is! Thank your artist daughter!

I enjoyed seeing I’m not the only one. I’ve made many kids quilts when my grandkids were little. They were interested enough to give it a try. I’m so glad I came across this.! "Thanks for the memories"

Your embroidery brought back some memories of when I was a child. Embroidery was my first lesson with needle and thread. My mother taught me and, back in the day, I made dresser scarves and pillowcases with embroidery on them. I haven't embroidered in many years, although, I have done extensive counted cross stitch for several years. I might have to get out some patterns and do some embroidery again :) Love your videos (need more!) and your way of making quilts.

Many years ago I embroidered Mickey Mouse and Mother Goose and used it as a center for a baby quilt. I also enjoy embroidery. Enjoyed your video and daughter is quite the artist. The pattern is adorable.

I love this! I have some embroidery patterns that i plan to incorporate into a quilt for my granddaughter -- I haven't got it started yet, but your video gave me such a wonderful idea of how I can do it without having to be "perfect" -- that has been the bane of my existence! I love to embroider but always feel I MUST follow the details of the "picture" or "pattern" perfectly. I love your technique and now feels hat I have "permission" to do something less then perfect -- ti will be loved for its imperfection! Thank you, thank you, thank you!

Once you decide their purpose, (wall hanging, big quilt, baby quilt, table-runners, etc) I find that letting my self off of the hook to make something "perfect" and just allowing myself to create and enjoy, takes the pressure off. My advice is to play and have fun!!!

Nice video it helps for a beginner and your speed and don’t worry technic is nice to watch. Your stitches are made different than the back stitch you see everywhere in tutorials. I tried it and think it is actually faster how you do it. Is it still called a back stitch?

I am a bit self taught - but I believe it is. back stitch, stem stitch? I can never remember all the names. I just love stitching!

I can no longer hand sew due to osteoarthritis but can this be done with a machine? I’ve just bought a Viking Ruby, I’d love to hear from anyone who has done this by machine. I’m a quilter and I bought my machine so I can incorporate embroidered panels into my quilts. Thank you and your daughter!

Do you use a permanent stabilizer on the back of fabric to be embroidered? Don’t you see the thread lines if you don’t?
@merrymabelmarket
@merrymabelmarket 3 ай бұрын
I do not use a stabilizer. I use quality fabric and do not travel far, so no, it looks great from the front.
