@@bogart5131 many great architectures in China were built many hundreds years ago. Magnificent Daming palace was built a thousand years ago during the Tang dynasty, Great Wall of China was before that. First canals in the world were also built by Chinese during the Sui dynasty. 400 years old structures are everywhere in China.

I climbed this mountain in 1996 on foot without using special safety equipment except for the tough metal chains everywhere there. It's not so scary as long as you don't always look down at the cliff... And there were some old local men climbing up and down very swiftly with baskets full of goods /food on their back! We climbed up to the top overnight, saw the sunrise without sleeping, and went down still on foot through less steep but much longer way. It was an amazing, really exhausting but unforgettable experience. I am over 40 now so that will be the precious memory of my past youth.

Did this very plank walk in the summer of 1991. And there was only the chain to hold on to. No safety line, nothing. I almost fainted. And I did the plank walk in the morning, after going up the mountain all night from the railway station, where we had arrived in the evening. It was a day I will never forget.

NO not possible that there was only chain to hold NO WAY!!!
@guntramlampert3964 Жыл бұрын
@@Voltomess I assure you, it was as I stated. It was horrifying. More than one time I thought I would die. After that experience, I developed fear of height, and was unable to climb on ladders more than, say, two meters high for quite some time. I almost could not complete work in my house because of the massive fear of height I developed after that plank walk. Only during the last ten years, that fear became less intense. I just checked my archive and found two slides from our trip in 1991. They clearly show that there is no saftety line, just the chain. I will digitize them with my macro lens and send them to you. I just need your e-mail address.
@judykraska400 Жыл бұрын
But did anyone tell you to do this under such conditions...I would never do such stupid thing. I do not need this type of adrenaline. For me safe walks in Mountains and on sea sides are enough. If people need such challenge it’s fine, but don’t complain.
@guntramlampert3964 Жыл бұрын
@@judykraska400 Judy, in fact, I did not know what was awaiting me. All I knew was that we were going to see some holy (?) chinese signs carved into stone. When began descending that ladder, the slope was gentle. After a few meters, I turned around and stared into the abyss. I could not revert, and thought, well, it can't get any worse. But worse it got. Generally, I do not take risks. This whole thing came as a complete surprise. I acquired a fear of heights as a result of this traumatic experience. Only now, after over 30 years, I can climb a ladder to heights exceeding, say, two and a half meters.

When I reach the end, relaxing at the platform, saw three ladies crawl on the planks to reach the platform. I asked them if they are scare, "Of course, but still got to do it". Amazing.

What’s amazing, and think real hard and look really close on this one, if someone falls, these “safety restraints” are likely to not save you. They go around both arms so if you simply slip off an edge and both your arms go flying up….seee ya. The harness will come straight off like someone pulling your shirt off from overhead. These straps don’t go around and between the legs as they should which would fully secure the individual. These are feel good straps. Enjoy that thought for anyone who’s taken this route!

Yea, these straps just give people a false sense of security, a peace of mind to climb this over populated unsafe attraction route.

It is the Western mountain of the Five Great mountains of China and has a long history of religious significance. Enjoy a full-day tour to Mount Huashan to see Buddhist and Taoist temples, walk through the mountains and admire the spectacular landscape. Good luck to anyone brave enough to venture up to the top of the mountain. 🇨🇳 Magical experience! (Shan actually means mountain in Mandarin).

💐 Hello 😊 From Chinese (hua) meaning splendid, illustrious, or "flower, blossom". I don't know its true meaning but I do strongly believe Chinese mythology and philosophy. The nature of the earth, the universe and their relationship to each other. Earthly realms and the heavenly ones. It just makes perfect sense. Peace, love and happiness to you always. ❤🙏
