Pete Sandoval developed the style of playing blast beat up to Metronome. Also Sandoval developed technique to play blast beat for longer periods of time. In my eyes he is the developer of the technique. For instance - Terrorizer's Dead Shall Rise is a Hard piece for any drummer even to this Day. Blast beat sections are very long compared to early Napalm Death /Sarcofago/Repulsion

Excellent...!! Thank You so much for posting.. had the pleasure of meeting, partying and hanging out with Pete several times in the 90's.. always so down to earth.. the 1st time I ran into him he was on a payphones (remember those) and asked him for his Autograph he didn't hesitate to put down the phone to sign my stuff a quickly get back to his phone that I'm positive was at old school "long distance" rates. Other than a little grey in his beard he looks exactly the same.. same camo shorts and everything 🤘.. I am so glad to see his is still going strong as a true Death Metal Icon and one of the main developers of the modern Blast Beat.. STAY BRUTAL Pete..!!! 🤘🤪🤘

@@gradybrown9745 Yes sir, the single foot 🦶 BLAST! Hands DOWN, Pete is the man! I was fortunate to meet him in 98 at a METAL fest, he signed ALL my M.A.CD booklets and was like "Hold my TEA!"☕ Lol, as he obviously was drinking Ginseng Tea before the M.A. gig later in the evening. .And pre-show? He did like a darn near 15 minute soundcheck before their show, setting up ALL the triggers on his kit and obviously, would go into these little "blasting sessions", and flying across the toms etc...A drummer myself at the time? Possessed has probably lost a lot of fans recently. Hurts their image as a whole, but I dunno man I think Morbid Angel was unique by 1984. Trey was writing riffs they wouldn’t use for 14 years, tell me anyone else who is such a forward thinker. Maybe Chuck and that’s about it.

I agree whole heartedly Dingus . Morbid angel and Death were THE pioneers of Tampa death metal and as big of a pioneer as Chuck was , he still wasn't the unique,, forward thinker that Trey was . I just wish MA would put out a record as good as the stuff they were doing in. The early 2000s. Also wish Pete would join him. I have no I'll. Will. Towards Dave ( covenant is my favorite record) I just don't where he is as an artist now.
