After your first meal, "Now let's have lunch" !! Impressive eating, beloved dude, Prince of Curry... Glorious food, and always a feast for us voyeurs. So glad you are off that horrible Bellisima cruise and back to your usual stride! Arigato

I have just discovered your wonderful channel today, and I am now watching several of your videos. I think its a great channel, thank you so much for making those quiet and relaxed videos, which make me crave Japanese food. I especially enjoy this Kyushu videos, as I was there last year in March for 3 weeks, and absolutely loved it. Personally, I dont really like Japanese curries (I am used by curries from Thailand, India, Sri Lanka and Pakistan), and seeing a curry topped with cheese, seems so totally strange to me. But I love ramen, especially tonkotsu, and I am also a fan of Ippudo.

Thank you as always for some new recommendations! I was in that same Makino 3 weeks ago, having maruten soba - delicious and very reasonable price. Currently living in Fukuoka and will aim to try as many of your Kyushu spots as I can.

That bridge was very cool! We have a big drawbridge here but it doesn't look as nice as that one. I can't pick a favorite out of all the foods, they all look so good. Especially the loco moco and the parfait. I think I'm going to gain a bit of weight when I visit Japan! 😄 Thanks for another fun video STJ, I'm looking forward to the next one! BTW, you're not just a curry dude. You're *our* curry dude. :)

My wife and I have been watching your vlogs for a while now, and they're always enjoyable. We await the "!!" as it means something good, but we've struggled on what to call that reaction. We found a name tonight: "food boner". It works on many levels. Thanks for the great content.

I have never seen a Loco moco done with a soft-boiled egg before. Normally it's only sunny side up, or for me scrambled because I'm weird. Definitely not as effective but looked pretty. One of the fanciest Loco moco I've ever seen.😊

wow! I can't help but remember when I went to Mojiko and had yaki curry! It was so good! I miss fukuoka. really want to go back there and complete south kyushu, beppu and Oita, and maybe make a return trip to kumamoto

Is it against common courtesy to pick up the ramen bowl with you're done and drink the rest of the broth? Not saying he should have done it, I'm just wondering if it's frowned upon.
@kota_chiyo7 ай бұрын
On the contrary the chef will be pleased to see that you like the soup so much. But be aware of the amount of salt. I believe that's the only reason we leave the ramen soup (reluctantly).
@eatlikealocal2 ай бұрын
Not discourteous or frowned upon.
@sherryramirez63297 ай бұрын
how do you guys not get salmonella poisoning from all them raw eggs?
@eatlikealocal2 ай бұрын
In Japan, Chicken Eggs are generally safe to consume raw or partially cooked, because of the hygiene controls employed in the egg production process. At the farm level - the Chickens (egg laying Hens) are vaccinated against E.Coli and Salmonella, their feed is heated to kill those bacteria, and the coop houses are also regularly disinfected. Before being sold, the eggshells are also washed to further eliminate potential E. Coli and Salmonella related risks.

@@sandraweilbrenner67 Not necessarily. Japanese-style Curry can feature Coffee and Chocolate, which do not make it spicier.

You need to go to Hawaii to get some real, and juicy, Loco Moco, not that dried out wad of meat under an overcooked egg.
