I enjoyed this a lot! Tactical positions tend to make themselves known if you stare at them long enough, but never in my life would I have figured out this king walk from g2 to b3. The easiest way to win a game of chess is still taking pieces and checkmating....but the prettiest way to win is a nice long squeeze.

Also, the guy I'd like to see lecture again is Ronen Har-Zvi. HIs lessons were brilliant, the commentary was advanced but easy to understand, and his witty banter is unmatched. If he ever comes to town again, we definitely need more of his lectures.

These videos are the ones I gain the most improvement from. Not tactics but strategic play!!! Benoni The New York Variation specifically. from both white and black and QGD Petrosian variation from both white and black.Also mention lines that are more positional and tactical (mostly so i can avoid the tactical stuff and go for a positional setup/advantage) Oh and excellent excellent by Preston? Finding the Qg8 > h7 maneuver.

+Mikhail Chigorin (FabianoMarijuana) I agree. I especially liked this one since it was about planning in chess, which is a problem for me. After the opening; first 10-15 moves, I dont know what to do further. That said Id like even better if the planning was at a lower level. Some of the plans were at level above me, unfortunately.

+Trond-Arne Ausdal My playstyle is nontactical. I like boring positions where I can wait for my opponent to do something I can easily punish. ;D I am pretty good at planning and I want my planning skills to become sharper and sharper. Then Ill work on tactics.

I love this video about planning in chess. I often find it easy to make the first 10-15 moves(sometimes less than that), but struggle to find out what to do further. I believe many low level chess players feel the same. That said, id would be even nicer if the planning was at a "lower" level. Unfortunately I found the plans somewhat over my level.

The old books always used to say 'If you can't think of anything to do, find your worst placed piece and put it on a better square or try to exchange it' - that's pretty simplistic but at least its something positive! Us lower level players always struggle in positions where there aren't any tactics because that's how we learn the game, at higher levels its all about playing for pawn breaks and controlling specific squares which you either get or you don't - being able to see many moves ahead is irrelevant if you can't assess a position properly.

I always told u but u never listen to me. I play G3 first move. Make a video on G3 in depth covering all lines for white. Example G3 D5 G3 NF6 G3 G6 G3 C5 G3 E5 G3 F5.
