The endgame study is from Ernest Levonovich Pogosyants (Эрнест Левонович Погосянц), published the 19th march 1971 in the famous Soviet chess magazine "64" and won a special prize. This is an economic version of a study by Gurvich, Sachové Umenie, 1947 Start position FEN: 8/8/8/8/8/1r3P2/1kN2K1n/1N6 w - - 0 1 Ascii: wKf2,Nb1,c2,Pf3/bKb2,Nh2,Rb3 A well deserved prize, because it has less pieces and includes an underpromotion!

As usual, very instructive, and a good choice of game.. Well done! As a fan of Anand, that 2013 match was hard to watch, but Carlsen was in pretty amazing form.

That study in the end was extremely hard to see from start to finish, very nice though!

Master Akobian is a great teacher, but this video - with all those pop-up windows - is horrible.

I'm totally begginer, is there any free software like this one he's using to save possible variations?

In the study Fritz thinks there is another answer: 1.Nf2+ Kg2 2.Rxa2 c1=N+ 3.Kb2 and now Kxf2 4.Ra8 Ne2 If it is possible please explain this variant that goes to endgam R+N vs R.

I was prepering this line with c4, putting a knight on b3... and then when the game started my opponent played 4. Qc2, which he never played, I was furious..

I find him a great teacher, but it's a bit unfortunate that he only comments 1.d4 when focusing on white. A pity
