Splg I got into that because spy is 550 a share I was into it at 448 so It's cheaper to get into and getting the same returns also look into QQQM it's cheaper and the same as QQQ😊

Here's some better advice. Never stop buying. Buy through the highs and the lows. The worst thing an investor can do is try to time the market. The past doesn't predict the future, which is what this video is suggesting.

Which is why i followed Warren Buffett's move and shifted a large portion of my VTI, VXUS growth ETF's into bonds since they go up when the market goes down. This gives me $$ to jump on the up cycle. Though i would not have pulled $$ from a dividend ETF like you Professor G 👍

I’m in the market for long term, 20 years to be exact! I am fortunate to not need the money short-term. Ups and downs don’t bother me. I max Roth IRA and put a additional 10,000 in brokerage account. The Portfolio is as follows, VGT, VHT, VUG in roth Ira and SCHD in brokerage account. I am also fortunate to be making under the 44,000, so I pay no taxes on SCHD dividends a win. I'm starting to think is it worth it? A lot of the stocks are in both s&p and schg and they move very similar in the market. So I'm thinking should I cash out my Schg and put the money into S&p and just concentrate like the last few years into the s&p and schd. What are your thoughts on this?

SCHG is a growth ETF last 1 year returning around 38%, the average S&P ETF returned around 20%. Nothing wrong with holding both. That's what I do along with schd.

I tried to time a recession buying bonds . And I missed on the January Ai run on 40% of portfolio. I really regret. I’m 30% behind now from the sp50. Dumbest mistake. But I was about to FIRE at 37. If you are waiting for a pullback, then you are market timing, not investing. You should continue to dollar cost average, if that is your strategy. If you regularly rebalance your portfolio between asset classes, you would be able to buy low/sell high without market timing. If you base your investment strategy on the direction and pace of interest rate changes, inflation, taxes, etc., then you are a market timer. This is a recipe for people to have poor performance.
