I would like to point out that I never said they aren't good hooks. I agree they are very strong and reliable. I have several pack in my garage for my cranks

Just my suggestion.. I wouldn't give the trolls too much attention because it's just noise. People that are making the noise are the ones that are crying for attention and probably don't have a 100% belief in what they're saying so they have to yell it out loud to see if anybody agrees. I have zero problems with the Katsuage hooks. If you don’t throw braid and know how to fight a fish you should never straighten a hook. Vision 110- ichikawa kamikari light size 6 or owner stx 38 size 6 if i want a true suspend. Vision 110+1jr- owner stx 38 size 8. I use the outbarbs as replacement hooks for my blade baits since i use those on spinning gear.

Owners don't stay sharp. I toss all the original Megaass into the trash out the box. I don't even use Megaass lures no more bc of poor overall quality. There are better lures.

The stock hook is alright. You just gotta utilize your drag and I usually throw it on spinning gear. Given the superior drag system of spinning gear. My negative experience is sometimes the hook breaking off when I'm unhooking with pliers. You have to find the correct angle and pull straight down from how it went in. Versus say a thicker gauge round bend or short shark where you can muscle it out even if not from the exact angle it went in and it won't break or bend.

Its a nice sickle hook but too thin. Even 18in stripers will bend the hell out of the hooks.

@@LakeProTackle thats if u set ur drag hella loose and dont go crazy on the hookset. Majority of the time ull probably have some big lb line on this are you really gonna set that drag loose when your pulling in bass? Knowing basd fisherman it would be a hard set and drag that fish outta water. It cant even handle a 18in striper ripping the hooks apart.

My set up is exactly as I stated in the video. I use 10-12lb fluoro and usually have my drag locked on all my reels. I have caught many 7+ lb striper on stock hooks without an issue. Learning to anticipate what the fish will do and reacting to it is a skill only learned through experience @@HangNFish

Well Randy throws fluoro on a spinning reel. His main argument is that braid to leader knots fail. Since the fg knot angler have 0 issues with braid to leader unless they don't tie it correctly.

Good video! We have never really vibed with the stock hooks on the 110's, but the only treble hooks we throw on any lure are the Mustad KVD Elite Triple Grips 🐐only ones we've ever needed!

A lot of people will agree with Wolverine. He doesn't talk about the advantages to these. He knows why they're designed for the action of the lure in debate. He just points out the flaws and his idea is that they're not worth the losing fish. He knows how to fight fish from many other species such as carps, giant rainbows, stripers, etc. It's all opinion. He's stated whatever that he did. It is whatever it is. He's not wrong. It's never his intention to bash companies. He cuts it down the middle. Had they hold their own, he would have left it alone as there's nothing to say. No, outside barbs do not retain fish b/c it doesn't secure the fish within the bend of the hook. That's legit science. The thing about the gauge is that if you fight bigger fish, you can't fight it or you will bend out. That's just how it is. EWG's do not latch onto fish well in penetration, b/c of the inward bend, specifically for jerkbaits. They're better on a straight-retrieving lure. On jerks, you'd want a round gap so that when struck on the pause, it will get into the necessary flesh. Wolverine seems honest. He doesn't have the time to lie to people. Options is knowing. G-Finesse is thin and strong, but the problem is that b/c it is so thin in both the point and barbs with a smooth finish, the fish can pull out unless you fish like a Neanderthal and pull with no slack. @@LakeProTackle You're right. It is an art. The art of fighting fish comes more from trout fishing giant rainbows on light lines. In doing this style with bass, they tend to come off or bend out. That's the thing. I've been saying that indirectly. Better if I can just show ya.

You say only that I say they're trash. If I put them in the trash, I don't just say it. I live it and other hooks will go on the lure besides a Kastuge or whatever it is called.
