@@skysclowderofcats I'm in SoCal, and my kids and I have tried leaving deodarant and chapstick a few times. Naturally, it just doesn't work. I do often have gun, water bottles, and some safe snacks, like Goldfish or cereal bags, or granola bars. Teens playing sports often forget to eat, or need water, so those items come in handy.

Nurse and epipen user here. You should NOT keep your epipen in a car: “It should not be exposed to extremes - too much heat or cold - for long periods of time. If an epinephrine auto-injector is left in the car during a hot summer day or a cold winter night, the epinephrine may become degraded and no longer reliable” (“Epi Storage Tips…”). That’s not something you want to find out during the emergency.

All I’ve ever needed was gum, chapstick, hand sanitizer, lotion/cuticle oil, screen cleaner, a box of tissues and Lysol wipes and I did just fine. Leaving food and water in the car when it’s hot it is not a good idea, and I don’t think the powders would last long in heat either.
