Keep going! Trust me, you're a much better photographer than I am, but I am making at least $1,000 a month in stock sales between all my agencies - sometimes much more (and most of it is photos, not videos). I just happen to have very large portfolios on all the agencies. SS is still my biggest earner, but Adobe isn't far behind. I contribute to all the same agencies as you do except Wirestock - it wouldn't make sense for me to do that because I have a large portfolio and enough sales that I rise in the SS ranks really fast. Keep up the good work!

Thank you, Melissa, for your kind words of encouragement! How many assets do you have on average across the agencies? Are you in a specific niche, or are your assets diversified across categories?

@@RandomHartz hi! I’m closing in on 20,000 photos on SS. The other agencies are around 14,000-18,000 images. Videos - I have almost 500 at SS and a little lower at the other agencies. I started in 2017 so definitely not at the “high point” of stock lol, but I’m still doing well! No specific niche - most of the photos are travel. I don’t have any traditional stock photos like a model on a white background. My model released stuff is of myself, my sister and my mom. I find that editorials sell very well. A lot of stock photographers don’t bother but for me, they make up well over half my sales!

That's really impressive! Sounds like we have similar type of portfolio's. I am mostly travel with some model released. I also have found good results with editorial as well, especially images of signs 😊

Hey Joel, thanks for keeping your channel going, no matter what your sales might be in any given month. In March I had six sales on Adobe for $2.44. I only have 107 images on Adobe compared to your 629 images. My explanation for this is that you are submitting beautiful pictures that you like, and I'm submitting bland and boring pictures that I think will sell. Who are these people who are buying your landscape photos and what are they using them for?

Thanks for sharing Bill. 6 sales on 107 assets is not to bad. That is about what i get on istock/getty pretty regularly with the same number of assets (in my personal account). I appreciate the compliment about my images. It takes time to see what sells for you. Keep an eye out as to what images are selling for others as well as noticing the images that are used in news articles. That may help you decipher what the buyers are looking for. Ultimately get a lot more images online. My Portfolio is fairly small by comparison to some other stock photo youtubers. I am also aware of the irony of that advise, lol. I am making time to upload more in the next few months myself! I wish i knew who was purchasing all of my images, but sometimes I come across them in articles in my news feed. I have had a few purchased by ad agencies for their clients as well.

There’s no people in your pictures and there’s no theme or message either. Just random landscapes that signifies nothingness. 7:40 power lines is good. I’m going to tell you a secret. If you take pictures of yourself like that. Various expressions, experience, actions, posses. Especially if it’s business themed or outdoors like at 7:41....... *THAT WILL SELL WELL!* Do that 1000-5000 times and you’ll make money. If you were in the UK. I’d hire you to model. Proof, I’m n Getty and Stocksy

Thanks for your suggestions. I have a handful of model released images and lots of editorial shots with people in my portfolios on several agencies. Even a few of my self 😊 In these videos i am only showing a few of the images that sold in that month, as you know it can vary a bit. Some of my other stock earnings video have examples of my model released images, and there are links in the description to my portfolios. As I am primarily a travel photographer creating content for my website and other youtube channel @thewanderinghartz, i do not do a lot of studio or concept photography at the moment. I travel full time and would like to make time to create more images like you suggested, and I really need to do so. But I have a hard time creating new (non travel) images when i still have thousands of images to process from the last 10 years. Thanks for the modeling offer!
