In this video I audit my stock portfolio from September of 2020 and compare the results to the S&P 500. Did I beat the market or did I come up short?? The hardest thing an investor can do is to beat the market. Legendary investors like Warren Buffet will tell you the average investor is better off parking their money in a low-cost index fund like the SPY, but most investors are too cocky to take that foolproof advise. I am guilty of that. So let's see how I did!

IMO, 3 years of data can hardly lead to any meaningful conclusions.

I like zooming out and reviewing my performance over the past three years. Since Jan 2022. SPY and QQQ are almost back to breakeven for the same period.

Over Christmas I listed on my blog my 16 best ideas for 2023. As of that date, my best (so far) is OCUL, up 78.7%. My worst so far is AMPY at -20.6%. Overall up 11.1%. So I am also underperforming the SPY a bit (up over 16%). But I still have 5+ months to go before I do my tally and list ideas for 2024.
