Being home during covid19 afforded us the ability to have the time to complete the project of installing a stock tank pool . Although it became stressful at times . Solely because things were not in stock or because we had absolutely no idea what we were doing . We didn’t give up. We watched endless tutorials . Searched the internet for necessary pieces . Enjoyed the process from start to finish .
Below you will find the items we used to set up our stock tank pool. We are aware that some things may be sold out. Try to be patient and keep checking back . Or look for similar items in different sites . That’s what we did and that served us right . The first thing we did was track down a stock tank.

There are many styles and sizes . This one best fit our needs .
Next we wanted to filter our pool. So we purchased a sand filter . Below is the link to it. Be sure to shop around . We have seen the need for these jump and thus making the price skyrocket . You can probably find it cheaper elsewhere .

I also live in Massachusetts i have a question?for you .Do you drain the pool in the winter or use a pillow I would love 5o do this but afraid or hesitant because of the winters .your pool was absolutely beautiful 😍 ty for sharing

What is the brand of pool paint you used? how much per gallon? where bought? How is it holding up in the chlorinated water? Is it peeling or chipping off yet? You used what type of paint for the outside of pool? Thanks!!

Did you use any chlorine? Did you notice any black spots or any rust? I made one last summer and I used pond seal and by the end of the summer I noticed both black spots on the floor and it started rusting. Now I need to stop the rust.

Wonderfully Done... If you don't mind my asking ..what did the tank - parts run you??? Contemplating it ..or ordering an actual pool online. The turnaround time would be quicker via the tank tho.....

Hi Melinda , Thank you so much ! It truly was such a fun project and I for the most part effective . So I purchased the sand filter , the plunge valves ,rubber washers and the inlet air water jet . The most expensive part was the sand filter. You can do the filter pump instead and keep the cost much lower. So I would plan on spending about 300.00-350.00 for parts not including the stock tank . Let me know what you decide . I would love to see pictures !

Has the pool paint stayed on the stock tank ? I was going to use pond shield epoxy liner so it does not rust in the future, but I wondered if the pool paint works as well. Thank you

The pool paint that was available to me at the time was not made for the stock tank . So no it has not . Now with things being more available we are going to do the epoxy next .

You mean to tell me vinegar is the solution ? You have to be kidding me ? When I painted the pool . I painted it knowing the paint would chip. We said once things became more available we would do it correctly . When all along we had this in our kitchen . Omg

Vinegar?? I don’t see the comment regarding vinegar and the pool paint…

@@ericerindelacruz8947 vinegar etches the metal and removes the protective film a bit. This helps so the paint adheres a bit more to the metal I think.

Was this acrylic pool paint that you used or epoxy? How did it hold up? I'd like to use acrylic pool paint over epoxy for my project since it's cheaper but I'm wondering if anyone has had experience with it
