One thing I see over and over on these type of shows that really grinds my gears; they take the fuel sending unit out without cleaning the area first. So many little chunks of junk around that lock ring that could have fallen in. A quick blast with compressed air would have blown that junk away and ensured nothing fell into the tank.

Screw the torque specs on the pressure plate and flywheel bolts,a couple ugga duggas with an impact wrench is good enough.The V band clamps suck ass,they are a real pain in the ass to get off and on.Did a mistake when the ring holding the sending unit in was taken off,didn't blow off that dirt first.Don't want that dirt get in the fuel system.
@CanadaBud23
@CanadaBud23 2 жыл бұрын
No, they torqued them. Vbands go on/off easy and are great if you don't warp the hell out of them when you weld them on. And I never seen anyone clean off a fuel hat ever, especially on TV. I don't know why really. I usually spay WD or a bit of water or something to loosen it up and blow it off, rings come off easy after that usually.

@@Toolaholic7 I know, I have an 04 Intrepid. I also use them on my custom work but I don't have problems with them. I have messed up one from welding too hot and it was hard to get them on because they warped. I only had to fix one side and it was fine after. The only ones I hate are the 2 bolt ball/socket style connections. They always sag and rust together.

The point is that the car isn't supposed to have an ability to bypass EPA junk people get pulled over and ticketed for that. Besides, a racing cat like those flowmasters or something like vibrant honeycombe spins will flow without a noticeable restriction. The nv3500 would probably hold up to a stock 5.3 pretty good, or built on a hard tire if you don’t go crazy. The AR5 might be another choice but the adapter stuff might be a little pricey. The cd009 is another option if the shifter isn’t to far back, but again adapters and stuff are a little pricey and you have to cut the original bell off. All of these options should be way cheaper than a t56.

The Chevy nerd version is; In 1988, the "new body style" came out for the pick up trucks, but the suburbans, blazers, and utility trucks were still being produced with the "old body style". As time (and the GMT800 release) went by, gear heads slowly turned the "old body style" to "Square Body" (73-87 1/2), and the "New Body Style" to "OBS".

Skitt's Law strikes again. They actually have it correct. The pound-foot is the customary system unit of torque, while the foot-pound is a unit of measure for energy. This is one case where the metric system (using Newton-meters and Joules, respectively) is far and away less confusing.
