Great job, Sidestand! You and Dex are terrific riding companions. Next time, you get to ride the Racer. And yes, the Kineo wheels (along with the Michelin Pilot Power RS tires and lower Rizoma handlebar) contribute greatly to the improved handling of the Blue Planet R9T. The stock adjustable suspension on my R9T was barely acceptable and had to go. The new Ohlins suspension components (front forks, rear shock and steering damper) are an order of magnitude better and well worth the cost.

The Kineo wheels make a world of difference. I have them on my XJR 1300 and they transformed the handling. They are half the weight of the stock wheels and made the bike accelerate better and the handling more nibble. The xjr already had ohlins but the Kineo are terrific.

The unsprung weight of the wheels makes a huge difference. I don't know the weight of the BMW stock wheels but as for the Yamaha XJR they are literally half the weight. The bike was transformed. I'd be interested to see what you thing of the BMW R nine T with the Ohlins only vs stock and not the Kineo wheels.

I made a mod that you may like. The Suspension lowering- & rising arm from Wunderlich. (R nineT | Scrambler | Racer | Pure | Urban G/S - Suspension lowering- & rising kits (www.wunderlich.de/shop/en/bmw-r-serie/r-ninet/fahrwerk-reifen-rader/hoher-tieferlegungen.html). It allows you to change, very simply, the hight of the rear of the bike and thus act on the head tube steering angle. I found the rear shock to be ok on the 2017 and this option, that is cheaper, meant I could really make the bike more nimble or stable in a few seconds. I tried a few angles and found the one that suited me. It transforms the bike. Could be an idea for a future video. I loved your video on the Daedalus tail tidy and ordered one after seeing your installation.

Have you modified any of the Pure suspension yet, other than the handlebar adjustment.In the video Dave just mentioned changing out the rear spring only, or atleast for starters.Were you thinking of doing that vs considering replacing the entire resr shock?Just wondering if the rear shock replacement alone would be enough, or you still would have to do something with the modifying the front forks.You still OK with the stock Pure seat?Looking forward to BMW demo day near me in few weeks, will be riding the Pure if available.

Haven't modified the suspension yet. Not sure when I'm going to pull the trigger, but plan on doing so in the future. When I do, it's going to be an entire rear shock from Ohlins or Wilbers. I also plan to run the Wilbers full front fork replacement for the adjustability. The stock Pure seat is pretty comfy for me & I don't plan on changing it. Thanks for watching!

Watched a guy on youtube getting his Pure suspension setup at an event in San Diego I believe. They said at 190lbs, his suspension was maxed out and even needed further adjustment. They recommended he upgrade his suspension for his weight. Is that really true? That would mean the published BMW specs for max load on the Pure are off and way under sprung from the factory. Two up would be impossible. If what the tech said is true, the Ohlins should be standard on all models.

Scrambler has more of an aggressive rake in the front which turns in slower than the Pure. Although, the upside is being able to take it on dirt. I usually stick to pavement & I'm also surrounded by canyons so I ended up with the Pure.

If you have the chance to test ride the original R NineT I'd really like to know what you would think about its suspension - is it far away from the Oehlins you tested here or does it already make a difference to the Pure version?

I do know that the 17+ R nineT (original) comes with front adjustable forks and may have a difference in regards to fork dive compared to the Pure. This is a good suggestion, will try to find one to test out. Thanks for watching!

I got the Pure specifically for the color. If you don't like the color I recommend getting the original with the upside down forks + the additional components it comes equipped with.
