The stock makes the platform VERY stable and tight. I shoot 10s of 1000s of rounds each year and if I pick up a stocked pistol I will still perform better. Thanks for writing!

With a Midwestern Police Dept. in 1977, we had a Springfield Armory M-14 (Not an M1A) in our SWATT Arsenal that we wanted to make 'Full-Auto' so we purchased a selector switch through 'Shotgun News'. It was delivered by three ATF Agents wanting to know "What" we wanted it for ? We showed them the Rifle and filled out 'Proper Paper Work' and they left (without any of us in hand cuffs). I know you can purchase these items on the internet, But believe me Friends it's not worth 20 years in a 'FEMA' Prison Camp. Stay out of the 'Cross-Bar Hotel' and God Bless America.

complicated system in the states. in nz over 30 inches a rifle, under 30 inches a pistol.
@Bigshooterist8 жыл бұрын
+mike allen Our biggest problems come from politicians writing laws about things they have zero knowledge about. Combined with dishonest reasons to over regulate honest men and pretending criminals are affected, gives us no shortage stupid rules.
@mikeallen87248 жыл бұрын
Bigshooterist we have some strange laws in nz as well. for some reason free standing pistol grips are dangerous. magazines over 7 rounds are legal to own but illegal to use and so on but mostly it is still ok. much better than australia. we can put a hand gun in a chassis and it is still a pistol as long as it is under 30 inches. nice and simple.

Like the videos Jeff. Have you seen the "Endo Tactical" stock for the Glock? It uses AR buffer tube/stocks. Kinda sexy.
@Bigshooterist11 жыл бұрын
Yeah, any "pistol" with a stock makes it a "rifle" (...intended to be fired from the shoulder...) and the short barrel gets people into trouble. Look for a few videos about making your own SBR or SBS where I explain the process.

Very informative. Thank you much sir.

The laws are crazy and hard to follow. Most of the people passing them know almost nothing about firearms at all. That is the purpose of many of my videos. In my industry I NEED to know what they are, and I just pass the info along. I agree that most if not all are silly. You will find few people who will disagree with you. Thanks for writing.

Please tell us - in your 'personal opinion', which detachable shoulder stock you recommend for purchase. This of course presumes all the legal federal paperwork and licensing has been successfully completed. It's been several years since you tested various pistol shoulder stocks and I'm sure there have been improvements or possibly new types of shoulder stocks introduced. You might be cautious about endorsing one over the other, but as long as you write, "...in my own opinion," you should be okay. In observed that the Smith and Wesson SD 40/9 EV semi-automatics look like Glock clones but don't have that necessary drilled hole in the back of the pistol grip. Thanks.

The punishment law abiding citizens take to legally get what they want is deplorable. Any criminal with good taste could stock a pistol for pennies on the dollar.
@airsofthermit89878 жыл бұрын
Would this apply to a replica airsoft pistol, because the stock might fit on the real steel counterpart that the airsoft pistol mimics?

Once it is classed as an SBR it remains that, whether you have the stock attached or not.

Is it legal to remove and reinstall the stock, like on old lugers? I would like to make a stock for a new manufacture 1911 and have it be removable and store in the detachable stock. I think this would be very cool and a fun project but I have no idea if it would be legal to do this. Please help me with this information if you can.

when you say "front grip" on a pistol, do you mean "front vertical grip". because there is an "angled foregrip" by magpul. i did the a lot of research and came to the conclusion that it is not illegal, but you might have to convince a jury of that if a cop sees it

Why do legislators discourage people from making or buying a shoulder stock for their handguns? They will scrap their previous plan and they ll' go buying a rifle or a shotgun, far more lethal weapons. How much more dangerous could the world be with unregulated shoulder stock? A threat for Mankind!

"it only costs a little bit extra to build what you really want. Why complain?.. All you have to do is pay a little bit of money and wait and you get what you want!." $200 in 1934(the year NFA passed and the US was still on the gold standard) translates to over $3500 today and was meant to almost completely eliminate the firearms regulated by it. But it's only "a little bit of money", it's not like they have tried to jack that tax up and tie it to inflation. Oh wait, they have... www.foxnews.com/politics/2013/08/26/house-dems-seek-to-tax-gun-owners-with-new-bill.html#ixzz2d7OULoNf After the 1986 Hughes amendment passed, certain NFA firearms that cost

suppressor...... not silencer
@studyinsteel51868 жыл бұрын
+Robert “Captain” Fisher Tell that to Hiram Percy Maxim. The device is called a silencer when it is used for industrial machines and it used to be common to call mufflers silencers. "Suppressor" is a term pedants use to correct people they think don't understand guns and because they think that "silencer" is an overstatement of the device's capability. That's a form of political correctness, not engineering terminology.
@Tomartyr7 жыл бұрын
Suppressor doesn't even properly distinguish between a flash suppressor and a sound suppressor (silencer), in no way is that the 'correct' term.
