Stockfish's attack was impressive, and those strategic knight regroups were beautiful. Thanks for sharing.

That French Tarrasch variation [1.e4 e6 2.d4 d5 3. Nd2 Nf6 4.e5 Nfd7 5.Bd3 c5 6.c3 Nc6 7.Ne2 +/=] was shown to be chronically problematic for Black ever since Geller vs. Uhlmann Skopje 1968, and was the reason ~50 years ago Korchnoy always played 3...c5 (instead of 3...Nf6) in his 1974 match games vs. Karpov.

Agree. Still, brilliant attacking chess by Stockfish. Also, in general black trading off his "bad" light squared bishop can turn out quite badly for him in the French. Karpov had a rare loss as black trying this idea in an advanced French.

Yeah, a great game. You know I 've already thinked recently of switching to the Tarrash variation against the French defence, for the Vinaver line is too wild, exchange French is too mild, and the 3.e5 line is somehow slow

Like or Dislike: Like. I've been experimenting with the Guimard Variation of the Tarrasch French, but White always seems to have an easier time finding moves under time pressure.

It’s like; the French is annoying because it’s boring. But it’s great because I always beat it.
