Yeah... basically Stockholm is like staying at your Grandparents'... you are in a clean, peaceful environment, you are safe, loved, well fed... but it's boring as fuck and there's nothing to do. You'd much rather be at a cool friend's place... (NY, LA, Miami, Tokyo, Paris, London, Rome, Amsterdam, Rio de Janeiro, Montreal, etc.)

This is a really good advertisement. It makes you actually believe that Stockholm is a great city for someone to live in. Unfortunately for Sweden and the marketing profession we live in an era where people travel a lot and have access to information easily. Anyone who has visited Stockholm, even for a few days, can tell that the city is boring (pathetic nightlife for a capital city), highly expensive, filled with immigrants and most importantly it has bad weather (cold, wind, snow) for the majority of the year! Why do you think so many young Swedes want to leave their country? it's not a coincidence! P.S. Whole Scandinavia is similar to Sweden (you visit these places once, take photos/upload them to FB and leave. you cannot live permanently in such environments)
@MarcusKlockare10 жыл бұрын
Anyone that judges a city based on a brief visit doesn't know what they're talking about. It's filled with immigrants because of generosity towards those that are not as well off. Because of that, Stockholm is a very multicultural city which in my opinion is a good thing. Many young Swedes leave their country because they have the possibilities to do so and want to learn more about other cultures, see other places etc. Yes it is an expensive country to live in, but the wages are higher as well. An average salary for a Swedish worker is around 4400 USD/month. There's a saying in Sweden: "There is no bad weather, only bad clothes". Sure, if you're a reptile, sunshine 365 days a year is fantastic, but as a mammal I enjoy the four seasons. I'm from Sweden, have lived 2 years in Australia and have now been living in Ecuador for 2 and a half years. During that time I've seen lots of beautiful places, gotten to know amazing people and learnt new languages. I've also learnt to appreciate my home county a lot, and will at some point go back to live in Sweden.

Its a trap!, We have crappy weather and long winters where the sun barely comes up at all. Although, forgetting your laptop in a superbad neighborhood can apparently result in people asking around for the owner when returning for it. But seriously, its a pretty boring place.

Hire a cab? Jokes aside, you won't be disappointed. Yes, us Swedes are masters of self-deprecation and we have a large portion of youths who think immigration is the end of the world, despite evidence to the contrary. Aside from that, you'd be hard-pressed to find a nicer place to live in if you like moderate weather (It's currently about 68-70F outside) and to feel like society is on the right track.

Burning waste to recover energy does not count as recycling. To say it does both undermines efforts to improve material recycling which maximises the value gained from waste materials and is contrary to European law. Any official advert should know this. C'mon Sweden you know better than that!
