Very beautiful! Thanks a lot! The city burned to the ground four times and was rebuilt four times. The city was first set on fire by the Russian army during the Great Northern War in 1721
@StockholmWalks2 жыл бұрын
Yes, the Russian army did burn this and many cities in the 1700’s. That last fire was apparently the largest city fire in Swedish history, nothing to do with Russia as far as I know. Glad you liked the walk!

At the time they still used wood, and lately it’s been making a bit of a come back as sustainable material, but off course more unusual for large buildings. Glad you liked it!

Sundsvall is actually not situated in Northern Sweden its located almost exaxctly in the middle of Sweden. Sundsvall is hometown för footballers like Emil Forsberg midfielder in the swedish mens national team and Hanna Glas defender in the swedish ladies nationalteam.
@StockholmWalks Жыл бұрын
I know, it’s annoying with us southerners referring to everything north of Uppsala as North. I was debating with myself- it’s the middle of Sweden, but a part of Norrland, which is the most northern part of Sweden. To complicated in a headline! Thank you for the extra information!

@StockholmWalks2 жыл бұрын
Most cities have a symbolic animal, like the lions in Stockholm or the curly horned sheep in Visby. Some do a bit extra with them. I’m only guessing but I would think Östersund has their lake monster, their own mysterious Nessie type of thing

@@gungij2728 oh that's great! has he gotten a spot on a team or is it some exchange thing? you can find a job, but it's not easy, depends on what you can do i guess, when you turn 18 you can probably find a part time job in a bar or a restaurant, i think that is the most probable area where you get by with only english. what kind of fighting? we have plenty of martial arts so hopefully you will find something fun.

@@zymeon its like a tier 3 team he got in he actually got in other teams in denmark aswell as germany, but decided to go to sweden its closer to home aswell, i just wanna make some money on the side living in a different place where everything is new thats more interesting and while doing that im going to be finishing my school when i do that ill probably go back to Latvia to a university or something, yea i really love basketball but i think i would love to learn some fighting always comes in handy haha, my friend whom i used to study with actually one of my 2 best friends also do judo and my friend who moved from Latvia to Ireland a couple of years ago this year when he goes back to Ireland hes on holiday here in Latvia now, when he goes back he wants to go in fighting again something that keeps you busy and that also teaches discipline and thats what drives me aswell to go and start doing that, i can say ive been in a couple of fights in riga like twice this year you know how the clubs and parties go, sometimes you have to, and i would say some good fighting comes in handy how i said earlier

good video as always but the occasional spinning around is unnecessary, it creates motionblur and is a bit disorienting. I think it would be better to walk consistently in one direction at a time with smooth camera movement, perhaps the occasional small pan left or right if something of particular interest gets your attention. The 360 - blur-spin is just distracting. If you want to film from the opposite direction, then walk back later or as a separate video. Cheers! Keep up the good work. :)
