Jon, I love you, the Eiger Sanction, Grindlewald and Gimmelwald!

The Eiger is still in my list, it will come some day, but not yet, I'm not ready this season

@@jonmurua You are awesome to write back to me my friend Jon! Thank you so much 😊

That was a close one for us! The party infront of us, took all three of our ropes (seen in the video), so we could simultaneously start climbing, and not miss the last telecabin.

I remember the stress on Line's face, when she arrived at the anchor pulling the 3 ropes (and the weight). Close call indeed, it was a good team effort 😃

Great to see a new video from you! I had wondered if you had taken a break from climbing, or just from editing footage :)

I have a lot of footage to edit... More videos will come ;)

Hi Jon, great filming as usual! Looks like you are using the La Sportiva G5 (not evo) and the old petzle dart (before replaceable front point). I have the same boot but with the new dart. Are you using the standard toe bale for the crampon? I am thinking that a more rounded toe bale may fit the boots better and reduce chance of crampon pop like you had. What do you think?
@jonmurua Жыл бұрын
Hi Freddie, You're exactly right. G5X + old Dart using the standard toe bale. The toe bale is not well rounded around the boot, but rather the 2 side edges. If there is a strong lateral move, it pops (which is common in mixed terrain where the crampon can get stuck in the rock).

Nice to see you making the most of the winter. How do you find the Petzl pure ice pick for the mixed climbing?
@jonmurua Жыл бұрын
The pure ice are like butter in this terrain. In fact, the mixed picks that I had, ended up destroyed after this route as well. I like the mixed picks for mixed climbing on dry granite, for limestone covered on snow, maybe pure dry picks better. I only use the pure ice for ice climbing.
Wow, that looked hard Jon. Well done. Petzl crampons aren't the best. I've had them pop off on me as well! Toe bale is poorly designed!!!

In the beginning the crampons were holding well, but recently they keep popping. Always on La Sportiva G5X, on the ski boots Dynafit TLT6 I don't have this issue

@@jonmurua Yep they pop off my La Sportiva boots as well.

I figure it might be the boots flexing/bending, then the front popping off. May happen especially often with carbon insoles that loose their stiffness?

Finaly someone made a video of this route! 😊 thanks a lot. When did you do the ascent?
