That baby cobra probably just recently left the place where its mother laid her eggs. It must have been looking for small frogs ans small lizards when it strayed into your yard. I would suggest that you purchase some Snake Tongs and Snake Hooks to help handle any snakes straying into your yard in the future, specifically the long ones that are used by herpetologists in the field. Face shields would probable be a good addition as well if ever an adult cobra is encountered in case it spits venom in defense. Also, the pond's looking good. It looks pretty natural now. Maybe a few more logs would make it look even better as well and could probably help with breaking up the square-ness of the pond's edge, especially if the logs get positioned near the walls of the pond and could also provide additional shelter for the aquatic life. I'm actually taking some cues from your pond for the time when I revitalize the turtle pond; kept getting delayed in doing it because it keeps raining a lot. The guppies will eventually multiply as guppies often do, and the turtles would probably find it hard to control the population once it explodes, so maybe when that time comes will also be time to add some mid-sized predatory fish that can pick off some of the fry; I suggest Three-spot Gourami for starters. This species of gourami is one of the more common ones in the pet trade. They are silvery in color and have three spots on their side and can get to 6 inches.

With the size of your pond, your filtration system wont be enough. Add a pump to push the water towards the water intake to bring the debris in one place and help circulate the water. Airator in the middle will also help.

At 25:22 I bought my nana the plant on the that’s on the right in the pot. The red and green. She’s had it for at least a year now and it has grown. You can’t see the top. Your pond is going to look very cool once it’s finished. Hi from NZ.

Hi Mikey! I think you should also start to consider having a quick snake handling seminars as a refresher. I know that you have experience in handling snakes in the past but it may be helpful to also have you and rj and the full mabuhay farm staff to have a general idea of native snake species and proper handling. I think Wildlife Matters have seminars (I think you guys have met before?) Ingat Mikey! If there's baby cobras there'll be mama cobra!

Cabomba is super invasive. Also Egeria. They might not be such great choices for your pond, especially if overflow would be to your waterway behind the property.

I love 💕 those plants in the pond. I was just curious about the pot size. Wondering when they need to be changed for bigger pots. Hey Mikey!! I suggest utilizing the creek to avoid snakes entering your residence. Just make a water pool on the creek, build a "beaver dam" it's very easy to make. The wild animals came in because of the water features, by providing the water pool outside your fence will help these creatures as well specially monitor lizards. This mini pool will add a great scenery on your viewing deck.

The pond is looking FANTASTIC! Once it's all grown in its going to be unrecognisable! I hope you have a fun trip to Australia! I'm kind of sad because husband and I decided at the start of the year we wanted to go on a Australian holiday around this time of year, but life happend and we weren't able. But it would of been so fortunate if it had worked out. But hopefully one day you'll be in this neck of the woods again at some point (I'm in NZ) and I'll get the chance to see you preform live! But as it is I can't wait to see your vlog down under!

Mikey, you need sands for the Turtle to lay her eggs. That's what they do when they lay their eggs and hatch them under the sands. You have a very nice-looking natural pond now. It's a lovely place to watch the living creatures swim around and to look at the plants growing around the pond. I'm so scared of the Cobra or other venomous snakes that live in your forested farm. You are a nature lover, and all things living are present in your tropical forest. Good luck and be safe all of you.❤❤❤

Marsh plant don’t like to be over 12” deep. They might grow but will not do their best. The palms also. Lilly’s like it about 36” you can put two stacks of rock and and big rock across to make a higher shelf for plants and a safe place for the fish

Happy wife, happy life! Lol you are adorable. If there is a hole in the concrete tunnel platform put a tree in it, it would keep the trees from falling in the wind which they will. Or put in ceramic, etc heavy pot to put them in so it gives them stability, can put rocks in it if big so it has growing room. If that was a plastic bag it I Will hinder its growth. You could just put a shorter plant in that pot, creeping Jenny or flowers like cannas!

Find someone with an established pond and get some filter material already seeded with bacteria. Fish waste is mostly ammonia which isn't good for your water friends. First step is to convert to nitrite, which then can be converted to nitrates which the aquatic plants can extract from the water. Both conversion steps require different species of bacteria which are equally important to the aquatic nitrate cycle.

I ❤your videos and you are usually so conscientious of animals but if you have what is basically a water trap for animals you need to have good escape routes. Until you build something permanent put wide plank that any animals can easily get out. Safety is more important than looks. I see towards end you placed logs so please make sure they don’t float away again. Your videos so relaxing and beautiful until I see your pond without escape. Very glad something in place. You are awesome and hope you have a great trip!
