Just as important as water, is having the ability to filter water. You can never have too many water filters and purifiers because someday you'll run out of stored water.

Water filters are great and thankfully I have access to a lot of well water and spring water. Based on where I live I know if something was catastrophic enough to make my water sources unsafe than I am most likely dead as well

Egg plant can go all year long indoors with an extra bit of light. U do know tomatoes grow rapid under grow lights and can be grown all year long. Peppers can grow for ages under grow lights.

Good tips. The plastic cat litter containers stack easily when empty. Save the lids to keep out dust and mosquitoes. Being square, they are space efficient for storing water for bathing, flushing toliets or watering the garden. You can put them under the drip line of your roof to catch rain water. You can put holes in the bottoms and grow things in them. I landscaped with fruit trees, so it's not immediately apparent to most people that I have a dozen different fruit trees on a subdivision lot. If you have suitable space, plant a couple of fruit trees each year when you can afford it. Learn to graft. You can add more than one variety of fruit to each tree, which extends your growing season and improves cross pollution, and thus makes your trees more productive. You can also prune many fruit trees to suit the available space. I have a 20 year old peach tree that I keep pruned to only about 6 feet tall. But I get several dozen peaches from it each year. You don't have to allow your trees to get to conventional heights if it doesn't suit your needs. And if you can't reach your fruit to pick it, what good does it do you? I have six 4x8 raised beds. I've been experimenting with growing a few new vegetables each year. Some are easier to grow than others, some have unexpected quirks. If you ever need to grow a serious amount of food, you will have the knowledge, the tools, and perhaps some spare seeds. Make your mistakes when the consequences aren't dire. Until you start gardening, even on a small scale, you don't know all the tools that you need. If necessary, you can convert your entire lawn into a garden if you have the tools and skills. But it's more work than you think. Even if you are an organic gardener, consider stocking up on some general fertilizer like 13-13-13, and pest control. When your life depends on it, you can grow a lot more with commercial fertilizer. Even if it just gets you by for a year or two. Don't discount improved seeds or hybrids. But buy some heirloom seeds to save and practice growing some. But, when your life depends on it, hybrids will be more productive. Use your heirloom seeds later. And even if you only use heirloom seeds, if you have two types of the same plant that bloom at the same time, your seeds will be hybrids if they cross pollinate each other. So stagger the plantings. Also, save seeds from you earliest, largest, healthest, and best vegetables. Eat the smaller, ugly ones. In a pinch, if you can't get heirloom seeds, don't pass over hybrids. You will probably have better luck growing things from the seeds of hybrid varieties than gmo ones. You will get something different from the parent when you plant the hybrid's seeds, but it will be edible. Find a brand of gardening and work gloves that you like, then buy several extra pairs. Plus long sleeve work shirts and wide brim hats. Ball caps won't cut it long term. Gardening tools break. Have extra. Different shapes of shovels have different purposes. You'll need more than one kind. Get a tetanus shot while you can.

How many magazines? Lots, but relative. For the dude that has a belt and only a single chest rig, maybe less. Those of us that have multiple gear setups, rigs with 6+ mag capacities, and extra for gearing someone else up, probably want enough to fill them all so you're not grabbing just 4 magazines and moving around. I have blue-taped magazines for training, beating up, and red-taped magazines that are fresh unused loaded and ready to rock, and probably a good 80-100 in total. If the balloons go up, we wont be ordering stuff from amazon overnight. No resupplies. You're probably doing retaining mag changes because you wont be able to replace your magazines.

I would add reusable canning jar lids such as Tattler lids and canning jars. As far as seeds, Dollar Tree in my area also sells seeds. They are small packs 4 for a 1.25. They also have 4 packs of small individual super glue containers or 1 small container of epoxyfor 1.25 as well. This makes is very convenient since you won't waste a bigger bottle. By experience, using a milk jug for a water bottle can lead to a very bad experience if not properly sanitized. Stick to juice bottles. I would also add a book about essential oils and spices that could be used if antibiotics are unavailable.
