What an awesome machine, I'm really pleasantly surprised that the middle didn't end up thinner!👌🏽 Fantastic effort with all those passes, Ethan, that's your workout for the day, aye mate 👍🏽

so if the outfeed flat of your bench top is not marginally higher than the infeed how do you get the flattening effect. This is is how a jointer works.? I get width flattening with this but how does it take out warps in the length without there being a height delta between the inflow and outflow to compensate for the depth the sander takes off the board?

Didn’t see any links for the fence setup.

Holy crap that was a crazy number of passes. Why not use a belt sander for the bulk of material and finish with the flat master ?

Suggestion - Use 3/8" strapping tape rather than masking tape to hold the paper ends on the drum - works better...

Can you flip it over and make the other side flat as well? will the two flat sides be parallel to each other? thanks very mcuh

I would think that much like a jointer- both sides with be flat, but not necessarily parallel.

lets see it with a name brand straight edge with light behind it by length and width. does he use masking tape in all his flatmaster videos.
