September has historically proven to be one of the most volatile months for stocks and even crypto. With this uncertainty looming, I'm at crossroads deciding if to liquidate my $250k portfolio and get back in after the election, or just wait.

@Tom-tk3du3 ай бұрын
Semis have definitely been looking weak. While I’ve got a sizeable position in NVDA, the rest of my portfolio is divided between two ETFs. I’ve been getting stopped out when I’d hoped that a second bounce off the 200dma would be much stronger. The after hours gapping action followed by all-day fade keeps taking out my stops. But I daren’t not set stops in this choppy market. No doubt others are experiencing the same. Am tempted to just sit on the sidelines till fresh all time highs on the Q’s are made. The current “tone” of the market is not encouraging.

@garydavid19653 ай бұрын
it is correct that there are two types of volatility. However, by the time the vol to be avoided arrives the train has left the station. lm sure you won't loose or give back as much by exiting at that point and possibly even make some on the downside, but, it would be nice if the model could be more forward looking from the chart that is in front of us.
