Should You Trade Stocks Before Market Opens (Premarket Movers)?

Do you trade premarket movers? They can be profitable but they can also be very, very dangerous. There's a lot of things you should know before making these trades.

Stock markets like NASDAQ and NYSE allow people to start trading at 4 a.m. EST. Premarket lasts from 4 a.m. EST until market open (9:30 a.m. EST). Pre-market trading can be done but there are dangers and you should approach this style of trading cautiously.
The first factor to focus on is liquidity. You can use StocksToTrade screeners to help filter out illiquid stocks. AVOID stocks that are illiquid, because you might get stuck in a trade that you can’t find a buyer for.
The second thing to be aware of in premarket trading is the stocks’ news. Many times, premarket movers are spiking on headlines that traders haven’t taken the time to really research. Sometimes this “news” isn’t news at all.
The final thing to pay attention to in premarket trading is a setup called the dip and rip. You'll see these stocks that spike quickly, and you get the early profit takers around the market open. Then the stock can stabilize and re-trend towards the high of the day, during that 9:45 a.m. window.
Remember, make informed decisions when participating in premarket trading, avoid trading illiquid stocks, understand the stocks’ news, and never rush into a trade.

I have done it with news before 8 with5 million or less float, with at least 200,000 vol before 8 am I have found they will spike at 8 because traders notice the news and cannot trade until 8 but only With no dilution in the fillings, but it is rare I will take a trade pre market

Good morning , first ty for the video . Second I have a question that I never get lucky to be answered clearly and I hope this time it might be. Let’s consider trading 212. As we all know there are some stocks that you can trade premarket and afterhour , but not all. Let’s consider a stock that you can’t trade premarket . You can anyway place a “pending orders” and here comes the question. If I have a stock that is trading at (for example) 100 $ per share in the premarket but trading 212 doesn’t allow you to trade that stock in that moment and you place a pending order to buy one stock at100$, then the premarket continue the stock reach 102$ per share and the market open and the stock is at 110$ . Your pending order will be filled at the price you placed your order so at 100$ and you are already gaining those 10$ as the stock it’s now at 110$ or it will not consider at all the time of that order that you placed as pending and will be just filled at 110$ ? good info! This confirms some concerns I had and now that I know that I was right about these from a professional trader I feel much better trading pre market. I figured the reason why people feared trading pre market was because of lack of liquidity. Thats why I was going after stocks that gaped high on my scanner with a good amount of volume. I made $540 (Paper trading) this morning premarket testing this. I will need to do a lot more testing.

Hi, could you please answer this question for me. Rule of thumb, is it 100% true, does you premarket stock expires before the market opens. This is what happened, wanted to sell a stock premarket, but it did not see at my limit price. when market open, stock started to drop. I wanted to get out, i tried to sell it on open three different attempts, but notice came back it was rejected. For some reason my premarket trade expires 6 minutes after market open, that why it was rejected when i tried to place trade. calls Tdamerica Trade up, told them. they told me it can take open to 8 minutes to get cancelled out, meaning to expire. Is this true, or did they lie to me to cover them selves. can you please answerer this for me. Thank you.

Yes. But, only a handful of times I have to see some crazy high relative volume and a catalyst. The last one of those I traded was SPI a couple months ago PM. It was a nice win, but I was in and out quick. I think it was crap news that people just went crazy over.

i have noticed that in premarket most of the stock goes up in bull market and then sell off after market opens. Then it gives a falls impression of market is up entire day. so why can' t we get in premarket if most of the stocks are up in bull market. i hardly can trade after maket opens and make profit if i buy during market hours because most of them went up already in pre market. it is frustrating to me. there must be a way to make money in pre market. for example, today market was up by 300 points (NASDAQ) in premarket then rest of the day nothing happened and all stocks were traded in pre market and i was not able to buy any stock to make profit because none of them moved up.It happens all the time. only day i make profit is when market was down in pre market and then it went up after market opens. this is the big secret I FIND OUT FOR PROFITABLE TRADE.
