I have had this very shotgun for 8 or 9 years now but mine has a wood handguard and stock that were painted black at the factory. I love it, it is a great shotgun. I bought it to go with the Mossberg 464 SPX that I had at the time. Mossberg was ahead of the curve for the current tactical lever action craze.

Great to see an updated or current video review on this platform. I highly agree that we should own certain firearms for the fun factor, if not just for the cool nature or “video game” aspect of them. I’ve owned the Mossberg HS12 tac O/U since 2016 and it’s the most fun at the range of all my firearms. Especially practicing reloads while running between cover points. I am surprised to see the Stoeger still has that much dispersion between the upper and lower barrel. That’s why I decided on the HS12. Every review I saw back in 2016 showed less on the HS12. And mine holds true to that, at least in my experience with an example of one.

I got the side x side version of this here in Australia, great fun shotty. Only thing to watch is the single trigger, if your too enthusiastic both barrels will go off at the "same time" giving you a surprise but nothing bad. If your chasing pigs/hogs over there in the thick stuff its pretty handy.

Props to you for reaching out to Stoeger to review this gun. They either have the worst marketing team or are being purposely handicapped by Benelli; they make great defensive shotguns that almost no one knows about. Can you check to see if the trigger still has a tilt safety? I wanted to get one years and years ago, but I found out the trigger only works in the horizontal position. Not pointed up or down. Turns out to be a common safety feature on double barrel hunting guns that is often retained on defensive models.

Very Cool I just did Patterning Vid w M3000 at 7,10,15 the O/U may fit nice between truck seats etc but I lay want the side by side. I believe these have safety for hunting aimed low against NDs but something to be aware of if your room is on 2nd floor. Shorter Overall length here than a lot of others. Aim into dirt before a target and see.

Stoeger makes the same shotgun as a side-by-side too. Did you specifically choose the over/under over the side-by-side? If yes why? @@OreGear Yep, but like how Beretta puts the auto-safety on their field guns, but not the competition guns. Out of curiosity. What problems did you have with your Enforce lights? I have two Enforce lights. An older 500 (I think) lumens on my Mossberg 500 and a 1000 lumen on my 10.5" AR. I've never had any issues with either of them. I have considered changing the 1000 lumen out to a Streamlight with their sloped button. Because the Enforce is mounted at 12 o'clock. Which I really like. Because it allows me to have the same grip, when shooting with either hand.

Say what you will, but HONESTLY.........this would actually be a really good home defense gun for Aunt Margaret or Cousin Tristan, people who recognize the need to have SOMETHING for defense but, if they are being honest, will never train with the weapon and will probably never be proficient or confident handling a more "complicated" semi auto type gun. Those guns are very reliable from a mechanical standpoint but their weak point is user error....user error isn't much of a factor with this thing. Honestly, most of our own wives would probably be better served by this than our tricked out AR. Same concept goes for revolvers.
