I love how Stoicism teaches us to love without losing ourselves. This video really hit home. The balance between self-love and love for others is something we all need to practice.

I once had a close friend who meant the world to me, but our relationship became toxic over time. Despite the constant negativity and emotional exhaustion, I stayed, afraid of losing the connection. Now, even after we've parted ways, I still struggle with letting go of that pain. Has anyone else experienced this? How did you finally move on and find peace?

Acceptance. Then focusing on the lesson & wisdom gained from the experience. Also what assist me is seeking to understand vs. being fixated on what was right or wrong. It releases me from the attachment of feeling like something was done to me

Been through this recently but major lesson learned, Focus on you 😢 The person i delt with was so toxic, Alcoholic, Monkey branching with other men Daughter in care who was worse then her Started off as friends was in a relationship with someone else i was, going well wanted the toxic person just as friends before red flags appeared, Had relationship breakdown with former girlfriend after a fight by toxic friend sabartarging it by texting ex and saying now you split up im going to try to sleep with me, told them leave me alone, still tried to cause issues by narcs ways with people who listen, other people whom are drinkers drug takers, Area where i lived was full of this type of people Before i moved i established a new relationship Narc found out tried to text me Again told her to bugger off Now before i moved 1 year on with new partner We had our ups and downs, recently bad news lost a daughter to miscarridge 😮 Narc found out tried to start a agurement saying hurtfull saying ridiclous things using her own daughter as a weapon 😢saying ugly stuff about im stalking a 24 year old gay daughter 😮😮 spreading lies The best you cando is let go like the video love yourself people like that never understood you secertly hated you and was ummature as a 30 year old something adult Focus in you your life and move on They will stay the same As my late father would say Not my circus Not my monkeys

Thank you for sharing your experience it's never easy to let go of someone who once meant so much. Many of us have gone through similar situations, and it's completely natural to hold on to the pain for a while. Stoicism teaches us that peace comes from within, not from others. One thing that helped me move forward was practicing self-awareness and recognizing that the attachment to the past was hurting my present. It’s a process, but shifting the focus to self-love, setting healthy boundaries, and learning to forgive (both yourself and them) can be incredibly freeing. You’ve already taken a huge step by acknowledging the pain. The journey toward peace is gradual, but it's possible. Stay strong!

By acknowledging how much that person meant to me, and that I wouldn’t be the person I am today without having had them in my life, I choose to acknowledge how much they taught me, how much I learned to love in a different way and that I can choose to love again even if it’s a different person 🙏

Life is not a race, competition comparison Is meaningless. It produces Low self esteem, jealousy envy, hatred, quit being unrealistic perfection which we not perfect ourselves, Progress doesn’t require an finished Line accomplishment, Different stokes for different folks, Who cares what you think and others The ambition of perfection Is losing your connection with yourself and others More like living on different Planet, it’s something but nobody notices, but to you A road map to frustration Accept the good, bad and Ugly. Go with the flow and let it go, you cannot Fight against the raging sea of disappointment or Letdowns .

I've tolerated the rubbish since 2012 . Since couple of months , i am finding chocked and difficult to breath freely. Now i completely stopped conserving with him. I keep myself away from all the negativity , which hinders the positive vibes to glow and flow freely in my Heart Mind and Soul. Now i am happy and don't allow anyone near with pessimistic attitude .

Your journey is both courageous and empowering, a true reflection of the strength it takes to break free from negativity and reclaim your peace. The way you’ve described your transformation from enduring years of emotional heaviness to now protecting your heart, mind, and soul from pessimism is deeply inspiring. You've become a beacon of light, choosing joy and positivity as your guiding force, and that radiance will surely inspire others. What was the most challenging part of this transformation, and how did you find the strength to finally choose peace over the negativity you once tolerated?
